I went to the obgyn today because I was having panic attacks. I used to have them before I got pg and it seemed to be related to my menstrual cycle. I just got back on the regular "pill" a couple of weeks ago and then last night I fell apart. Long story short, there are a lot of things going on in my life that are actually very stressful, but I could tell that I was not able to handle the stress effectively. I decided to stop taking hormonal birth control and the doctor is putting me on lexapro. Is anyone familiar with this drug? I am also not so sure about a diagnosis of PPD at 11 months PP, especially if I have had symptoms like this before.
Re: 11 months PP and lexapro
I am on lexapro and it works great for me. Even if you don't have PPD you are still having panic attacks. I went on lexapro when I was 18 because I got panic attacks every day. This drug was the only one that worked for me. I tried three others and they made me feel nothing. I felt like I was all drugged up but lexapro let me be me and feel better. I hope it works for you.
I too just started lexapro... but whilst my anxiety seems to have gotten better, im getting very depressed... however,k im not sure if lexapro is to blame, I also just started a hormonal birth control for the first time since i was 16 (im 24 now) could that be the cause???? please tell me more about your experience, time is of the essence! I need answers! haha
thanks!
