I feel like I have procrastinated so much since this is my 2nd and I don't have as many large purchases. The nursery is mostly complete but I still need to pack my hospital bag, get some receiving blankets, and wash a few of his clothes. I feel like I missing stuff but my brain is mush these days.
What do you still have left to do before baby comes??
Re: What do you have left to do??
Feeling a lot better now that the nursery is painted but we still have some things to do:
Line drawers of antique dresser we are using as dresser/changing table combo
Buy rest of totes for closet and put on hang tags
Have hubby hang second closet rod
Find Pediatrician...not sure why I'm delaying this
Start thinking about packing bags
Get clothes washed and put away
Clean out a couple of drawers in guest bath to put baby bath things
Continue to freeze meals
Put all of the shower gifts in their proper place (you should see my child's floor, you can't walk in there).
Find somewhere to put a million stuffed animals that are the size of a large dog.
Re-pack LO's hosptial bag and begin mine and DH's.
Get the car seat ready.
Get a few meals made and frozen.
Wash the new baby clothes we've recieved.
I think that's about it...
I was thinking about this this morning and feeling quite overwhelmed!
Currently, the only big ticket item we have on order is the pram which is due for delivery second week of December. Everything else is on hold until we move home at the end of the month - Once the move is out of the way and we are settled we will get the nursery set up. Everything else is having to wait too! Will look at getting my hospital bag ready soon though
Basically, I have loads left to do!
I need to:
Get my glider and put it together (but my aunt has confessed she is buying it for me)
Hang pictures on the wall
Make some freezer meals
Buy a small deep freezer for said freezer meals but mostly breastmilk
Maybe buy some more clothes for the first few weeks (depending on what happens at my next shower)
Buy my first round of cloth diapers (we are just doing prefolds and covers for newborn)
Pack a bag, but I have time

Wee#3 - Miscarried 11/2015
Rainbow Wiggles Due 06/29/2017
This! I have these exact items on my to-do list! Plus washing all the new little onsies and sleepers I have (I'm a FTM), getting a breastfeeding pillow & baby monitor, and I have an appointment to get snow tires on our car. I'm paranoid we'll be stuck in a snow storm or something and I'll get sick or run into trouble so want to make sure we're as save as possible
Find a pediatrician
I have 2 more showers this weekend, afterwards, I will need to buy the necessary items that we didnt receive
put hooks in the bathroom for her hooded towels (which ive decided to use 3mm hooks for)
pack hospital bag
I think that's about it!
Finish painting the nursery
Decorate nursery, hang curtains, put together crib, move dresser, organize closet, etc.
Put together swing
Make freezer meals (will start this in a few weeks)
I'm having a small shower at work so I'm waiting to buy wash cloths, towels and a few other small items in case we are gifted those.
Pack hospital bag, I probably won't do this until 38 weeks?
Re-cover mobile from LO #1 so that it matches the nursery for LO #2.
Make closet labels.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a million things, we're a little behind!

*Wash the baby clothes we receive as gifts
*Assemble the crib
*Get my old dresser from my dad's house for the nursery
*Pack a bag for LO & I
*Freeze meals
*Steam the carpets
*Arrange for a dogsitter
*Decorate the nursery, after I get all of DH's hunting crap out of there
*Clear off the kitchen counter to make room for the bottle dryer
*Basically, well... everything.
DH and I have Friday off but DS will still go to daycare, so I'll be tackling a bunch of things- painting DS's new room, setting up his big boy bed, washing the newborn clothes and other stuff.
Still need to buy a double stroller and a few other things. Pack the hospital bag. Make a list for SIL who will watch DS when I'm birthing.
As I am relying on everyone else I feel like everything is left to be done. I still need to wash all of LO's socks and hats from my baby shower. We need to figure out the car seat a little bit better. My husband wants the dogs to be outside full time so he needs to do a lot of work in the garage to accomplish that goal... however I am very UNHAPPY with this decision. They already live in one room of the house.
Last night a friend of mine came over and put the pack and play together, assembled the stroller, and helped move the swing into the living room.
Despite all this progress I feel like I will never be ready since I still have no idea what I am really doing. My sister in law keeps telling me that I need to wait to do things but being treated for pre-term labor has me even more stressed to be prepared.
Hang curtains in the nursery
Put the bed shirt, sheets etc on the crib
put together the swing/bouncer
rearrange my bedroom so I have room to keep LO next to me while sleeping
Still a few things small things to buy, burp cloths, maybe some more clothes
Meet with the pediatrician (that's scheduled for Dec 9th)
Set up car seat
Pack hospital bags
Yikes, now I feel overwhelmed!
Married my best friend 5/2/2008
TTC our first miracle since November 2010
BFP 3/16/2011 Chemical Pregnancy 3/20/2011
This is my "If everything goes perfectly and I have the time and energy" list:
Preregister at hospital
Select pediatrician
Get all the clothes and cloth diapers washed
Pack hospital bag
Research cord blood donation (I am not 100% sure our hospital does it)
Shop after our two showers for things we didn't get (ie: mattress, monitor, wipes)
Take breastfeeding class
Thank goodness I'm not the only one! I have grand plans to paint our dresser and our crib, as well as make some (simple) artwork to hang above the crib. My shower is this weekend, and the nursery is a mess because we primarily used it as a storage room/office when we first moved in, and my husband is SUCH a packrat. He seriously has boxes of stuff that he just refuses to get rid of, but never gets into or opens. I'm itching to get in there and just go through it all but 1) I have no idea what he wants to keep, and 2) I can't lift all those boxes! My back is killing me just thinking about it. I don't think he fully comprehends all that we have to do in there.
This post is going to send me into a panic, but I need the reality check, so here goes:
Besides the nursery stuff I posted about earlier, I need to:
Select a pediatrician
Wash and fold clothes
Pick a damn name!
Work out the details of my maternity leave
Remind husband to put in the paperwork for his parental leave
Assemble baby furniture
Write out birth announcements/thank you cards
Not to mention the stuff for the shower this weekend
Yikes!
Yep....Pretty much everything.
* Get moved into our new house so we can even start setting up the nursery.
* Get the crib & dresser ordered and delivered
* Pack hospital bags
* Get car seat installed
* Haven't even thought about doing frozen meals yet
Ok....I need to stop making this list. It's freaking me out....
Get curtains for the nursery
Install all new shelving and rods in the closet
Wash & put away clothes
Buy new boppy cover & new bottles
Bring down swing, bouncer, etc from the attic
1. wash baby clothes and blankets
2. get new bottles
3. get new pump parts
4. clean out/get new baby tub
5. make some freezer meals
6. install carseat (last minute - I don't want to move DS to the other side of the car before I absolutely have to)
7. pack a hospital bag
8. finalize the plan for DS while we are in the hospital (i.e. who will pick him up from school or come over in the middle of the night, back up plan, second back up, etc. and getting everybody on the "ok to pick up" list at daycare).
9. send in hospital pre-registration forms
10. read through my natural birth stuff from the last go-round.
and then: labor and birth this kid!!
I'm almost ready to pop this kiddo out, especially with all the pain I've been experiencing the past two weeks. I almost want my morning sickness back over this. ALMOST. And just wait, I'm going to jinx myself. I LOVE LOVE LOVE feeling her move. I can just touch my stomach and make out parts of her body. I HATE HATE HATE the cramps, the BH contrax, and muscle spasms. And I want to go all natural...oh dear...
To do list:
Finish prereg forms (just need to sign the forms I filled online at the hospital)
Hospital visit later this month
Pack hospital bags (already have list of must needs)
Wash a couple outfits and blankets
Finish artwork for nursery and hang lanterns
Oh, and PLEASE baby, let me finish this semester of school, okay?
