Grrrrr! Some parents annoy me!

G had a birthday party to attend Saturday.  We're the first ones there...next kid that show up immediately starts coughing.  He continues to cough the ENTIRE party, with some lovely green snot accompanying it.  I did my best to keep the kids away from him, but of course, G woke up yesterday coughing.  Now, R has a fever of 102.  I know it's not for sure, but I'm so annoyed at this mom for bringing a child that's obviously not feeling well to a birthday party with other kids!  Ugh!

Re: Grrrrr! Some parents annoy me!

  • I totally understand BUT.....I'm *that* Mom at daycare.  DS has had a horrible cough for a month now.  He's been to the doctor 1x per week for the past month and they keep saying it's a virus.  He's otherwise acting just fine- no fever, no running nose, nothing.  The parents at daycare hear him coughing and give me the side eye in the morning.  I'm sure they are thinking that I'm crazy for bringing him in because he seriously sounds terrible.  I just can't stay home from work because of this cough...otherwise I'd have no job!

Yeah, I understand that and a cough alone can last for a while. I guess what annoyed me most is that he did have a nasty green snotty nose, too. Part of the party was to make their own pizzas and he was coughing and sneezing at the table with the bowls of ingredients. :(

    That's really gross!

  • I would be annoyed too!!  They should have kept him home.  And I also understand Kim's view being a full-time worker.  It's tough!

  • More than the bringing the sick kid- it's the lack of manners that get me. Kids that are G's age should know to cover their mouths and then wash their hands if it's snot/sneezing. We DRILLED it in to Justin so it drives me nuts when kids are coughing everywhere. In Disney my nieces and nephews (all 3 older than J, 1 by 1 yr, 2 by 3 mths) hacked all over the twins. The next day Nat had croup and B a really bad cold. SOOOO inconsiderate.

I can totally agree when it comes to work, but a birthday party? With green snot? Clearly not a lingering cough situation.

Good for you!  I agree... I would have been annoyed about the coughing kid getting my kids sick too.  Now that I am a new parent, I am also realizing what a germaphobe I am!
