How can I deny this ?!?!

DD has been wanting a Fijit everytime she sees one or a picture of one.  I checked reviews and they're not great.  DD is not a clear speaker anyhow so I explained to her that the Fijits don't really listen to you and do what you tell them to.  Tonight, as we were sitting down with a bedtime snack, she looks at me and says 'Mom, you know that thing that I really want? Well if it doesn't do what you tell it to, I could just play with it". Considering that she has turned off every doll/animal that she has that talks, I could totally see her doing this.  $40 is just a little much for me to spend on one more toy to be carted around in a stroller or grocery cart.  Maybe I can find some really cheap look alike toy...

    we've gotten to the point with DS that we just tell him no. One time, DH told DS to ask Granny. So now everytime DS wants something he'll correct himself and say, "Oh no, I have to ask Granny."

    Perhaps Santa can get it for her.

    I tell my DD that we can ask Santa for a certain toy, but I do remind her that Santa knows what toys are best for her and that if he thinks a certain toy is not right maybe he will bring it another year.  So far that has worked. HTH
