So LO is now totally unwilling to nap at home unless he is a) being held and rocked, or b) in the car. He does nap at daycare, but only for an hour or so.
Any good strategies to get him napping on his own? He needs the rest, but so does mommy on the weekends!
ETA - LO has also started to poop occasionally during his nap attemps, and every time he does, I think to myself that I now have a crap napper/nap crapper!
Re: napping 101
Ditto this. J used to only sleep when we were holding him but that ended when he was like 8 weeks old. Then we transitioned to having to rock him to sleep, and then it was just drowsy-but-awake, and then we just plopped him in there and he was fine.
Try just slowly changing your routines.

Could this be the 9 month sleep regression? I'm just learning about sleep regression myself after being on night 14 of every two hours wakeups (this from a baby that used to sleep 6-8 hours at a stretch!). I stumbled on this link and thought of you and the fact that your LO was fighting naps - it seems to fit with some things this article says (have no idea the validity of it or the woman who wrote it since i'm just starting my own research on it - just wanted to point it out if it helps)

Good luck!
lol, H is a nap crapper.
without fail i go to get her from her morning nap and she's pooped (and stunk up the whole room).
i don't have any advice because we've been having a heck of a time with naps here. i think it's the 9 mo regression late, or the year one early. she has been laying in the crib talking to herself for at least 30 mins before falling asleep, and being a general all around crankster.
i would try to simulate your daycare environment at home as much as you can and see if that helps. also, maybe try keeping him up an extra half hour beyond usual nap time.
