I am ALWAYS tired. I get 7-8 hrs of sleep a night, and if I had the opportunity, I could easily take a 2 hr nap during the day. Dr did bloodwork at my annual in May, and all came back normal (including vit D which they said is sometimes the culprit). I take a multi-vitamin, fish oil, and calcium daily. I eat well, drink lots of water, and exercise several times a week.
Dr says "you have two small children-- you're just going to be tired!" This is just not right! Any ideas???
Re: I need energy.
I'm with you, I seem like I'm always tired too. I could take 2 hour naps and still go to bed at ten. I've had everything tested and it all comes back normal. I have coffee in the morning and maybe 1 can a coke but not everyday.
I recently had a bio-meridian done at the Chiropractor's/nutritionist office and they said I am dealing with Candida. One of the symptoms of Candida is fatigue. I'm going to start a Candida detox in December or just after the holidays and am hoping that helps. Several ladies on here have gone through it.
I did the detox Nessia mentioned and it helped with my energy. I no longer drink coffee or caffine at all which is totally crazy! I also have noticed that to keep my energy up I have to cut waaaay back on grains, even whole grains like 100% whole wheat. This is been a struggle for me, but I'm slowly working on it.
I also did micronutrient testing with my chiro. Here's a link that talks more about it, https://www.spectracell.com/mnt/ It's different in that instead of just testing whats in your blood it tests what how the micronutrients are functioning in your white blood cells. But it's expensive though since insurance doesn't cover it (or cover all of it). I really wanted to do this because being a vegetarian and being PG + nursing for the last 4+ years I just knew I was defecient and wanted to know where to focus. I found I was decifiecnt in B12 and another B vitamin and decifiences in either can cause fatigue! I just thought I'd mention this in case you feel its really a nutrient thing and want to pursue more testing.
Good luck I hope you find something that helps!
I am so glad I am not the only one who deals with this! If I hear one more time.. "you have a toddler you are supposed to be tired" I am going to scream. No I was supposed to be tired when he was getting up every 30 minutes as a baby and not napping. Now he sleeps. All of my test results come back great also. I drink water all day, no soft drinks, I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and I eat healthy throughout the day.
This is really interesting! Would you mind sharing about how much it cost? My email is mrssnflwr at gmail Thanks for the information!
I have my one diet coke instead of coffee in the morning. Trying to switch over to tea now since it isn't so hot outside! I love my carbs, so I'm going to try to track the processed carbs and sugar and see about eliminating those....good idea! Thanks!
Same here! Please email me info. Email link in siggy. Thanks!
Hi Nessia, can you please email me where you go? ballyb at gmail dot com
Many Thanks
Have you had a sleep study done? I did one and it was VERY revealing. Some folks that think they get "quality" sleep actually aren't. Waking up and still being tired is a very common complaint.
I went here and was very pleased.
