Taking LO to play

It is at a children's theater so I am not concerned about that, but it is based on a kids book - do you think it would be wise to get the book soon so she knows the story ?  Or am I thinking too much. She is 3.

Re: Taking LO to play

  • Yes I would get the stories first. We have taken DS to a theater a few times and having a frame of reference for the story makes a big difference. Check your library for the books you want.

  • DD went to Harold and the Purple Crayon at the children's theater and was scared. She wasn't expecting them to turn the lights out, the music was a little loud, and parts of it were a little scary (a life sized crab!).  She's usually scared of nothing, so I was shocked when I found out she sat in a teacher's lap for part of it.  It was a good experience for her and I'd take her again any time, but wanted to let you know what scared her so you could prep your LO.

  • I think it helps when the kids know the story.
