Parenting after 35

Happy Monday!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes.  Glad to know this board is drama free and friendly!

So, I survived the weekend playing single mommy while the husband was at drill.  Not only did we sleep through multiple earthquakes (thank goodness H didn't wake up!!!), but I actually got the bathroom cleaned and floors vacuumed, without any help.  Not that I'm bragging or anything...  Unfortunately it all went to hell in a handbasket last night and I don't think any of us slept more than 4 hours total all night long.

Anyone else have that much excitement over the weekend?

Re: Happy Monday!

  • Hi!

No excitement for us this weekend which made for a nice change from a super busy October.

It did hail here yesterday, and it never hails here. That was pretty exciting :P

And boo to not sleeping. I've always been a bit of an insomniac but every once in a while I have a really bad night of sleeping. The following day I always find myself remembering DS's craptastic sleeping as a baby and I end up asking, "How the fvck did I survive an entire year of feeling like this?"

  • Nothing exciting on the weekend here. More packing up the house, laundry, more laundry and dishes. DH was gone most of the weekend again for work, so he was no help. Oh, and went over to SIL's for my neice's 10th birthday. The cake wasn't great at all, dried out marble cake with raspberry jam filling (tasted like someone used bad noname jame) with awful buttercream icing (sigh, and Justin Bieber screened on). I critisize the cake - the same bakery made S her cake the week before and it was fantastic (although it was custard filling). SIL liked it, so not my problem. But the visit was nice!

And the little girls decided that sleeping in is for suckers and were up both days at 6 am. Boo to terrible sleep!

  • Yep - boo to terrible sleep! I'm now off to bed at 8:15 because I can't keep my eyes open anymore... Maybe tonight will be better. Fingers crossed. And there's nothing worse than insomnia and bad cake.
