Hey Ladies,
Sorry I missed last week, but all of my family was sick with either an upper resperatory infection or a 36 hour stomach bug. It was a sad house y'all.
So, how was everyone's week? I think some new ladies have joined, us, so feel free to share an introduction (or even re-introduce yourself).
And for questions:
1) Has the Daylight Savings switch screwed up your baby's schedule?
2) Is it cold yet where you are?
3) Who do you talk to most about your PPD?
Re: Monday Check-In
Pretty terrible. Thankfully Elizabeth ONLY had the upper repseratory infection and not the other. And our pediatrician's office dressed up for Halloween, so that made it a little fun for me, at least. I ended up being sick with both things (gross x 10) AND we had an ant invasion in the house. including in the crib. And then Wednesday night we didn't put her bumpers back on with all the other freshly laundered bedding... and she wedged her leg in between some slats and screamed bloody murder. DH actually thought she had broken her leg because she was holding it all wonky. But she was fine, just really upset. That's also the night I woke up at 3am and needed a bucket. (gross x 10).
1) our weekends always screw up E's schedule. we let her (and us) sleep in, and then naps always get all thrown off. So I'm sure she's off schedule, but I anticipate daycare will fix that for us within a day or two.
2) I think a cold front came in while I was sleeping on the floor next to my bucket? but then it warmed up again. Wasn't enough to kill the mosquito swarm.
3) my husband. He's been really good at listening and being supportive.
My week was pretty good. We had a beautiful wedding we attended on Saturday. It was nice to get some alone time with hubby and see a lot of our friends.
1. Ugh daylight schmalight!! Annabel was all screwed up. She only took one nap yesterday and was a monster. That is what I get for drinking the night before...I swear she knew.
2. It actually isn't that bad here yet. We are in Chicago so I am use to super cold.
3. I talk mostly on this board. My DH doesn't really get and never has. My DD lights up his life so it was hard for him to understand why she didn't do that to me in the beginning. He is getting better. I actually just missed two days of my medication on accident and he can tell I am down and tried cheering me up last night and this morning.
I'm new.
I'm Ami, first time mom, just had my little guy about a week and a half ago. I was diagnosed with PPD today by my OB.
1. Because he's still so young and having issues with reflux and he's not sleeping great to begin with, I don't think it really phased him.
2. It's chilly occasionally
3. I only talk to my husband about it IRL. I put a message out on my birth month board and got some feedback as to where to go with this.
Hello! Its Tuesday but I'm checking in
1) The time change was a little brutal for us. E went to bed at 6pm Sunday night and was up for the day at 5:30 on Monday. It just made getting us all out of the house super chaotic Monday am. But today we were back to almost normal. She was up by 6, but we let her talk and play by herself so we could get ourselves ready before getting her up.
2) Yes, its cold! (for Northern CA)
3) anyone who will listen
Mostly my husband and my therapist. but also my ILs.

Hi, my name is Liz, I'm a ftm. Lilah was born Oct 2. I have a history of depression and have been on Zoloft for 16 years. Ever since she was born I have been feeling very anxious and not feeling the grand emotions that everyone claims to feel about their baby, ie, the first time you see your baby you fall instantly in love, hearing your baby cry breaks your heart, etc. I saw my therapist this past week and she upped my prescription and gave me the number for a post-partum group. I do feel a little better after speaking to her and finally opening up to dh about it.
1) daylight savings messed her up a little, but we were able to get her back to normal pretty quickly
2) we are in NJ, it was cold for a few days, and we had the massive storm, but it has been in the 60s the past week. I hope it stays warm!
3) I don't really talk to anyone about it. It's hard because I feel like telling people what I'm feeling makes me seem like a horrible mother. I finally spoke to my therapist and dh, but just the one time.
