I have an appt. on Wed., but would you try to go today? XP Dec 2011

I had contractions most of the day yesterday, they got as close at 7-8 minutes apart, although they weren't totally consistant. I had a strange burning pain in my lower left abdomen. I was nauseated a little in the morning after breakfast, and had hot flashes, but no fever, and after lunch the nauseousness went away, too. I swear I can FEEL my cervix, or something inside stretching/changing. I don't remember the "insides" feeling with DD1.

I'm curious if I should go in today, not wait until Wednesday;s appointmentt. I work on my feet and I'm a little worried about going earlier than necessary if I continue my work. I'm not due until 12/8, DD1 came 10 days early, so at this point we're hoping I just make it to Thanksgiving, but you never know! Any advice? I think I"ll call and see if they want me to come for monitoring at the least. (We only didn't go to the hospital yesterday because I could talk/breathe fine through the contractions, and I stayed on the couch most of the day to try to keep things at bay.) Thanks!

    To me, when in doubt, call your doctor.  I'm sure once you call, they'll either call you in to check you or put your worries at ease.

    I say call your DR and see what they think. I mean it is better to check with them. Maybe your DR will want to see you today.

    Call your doctor.  Those systems are a bit advanced to just wait for the next appointment.  You want your baby to stay in there for at least another two weeks if you can.

    I would call and go in to be checked. With DD1 my water broke at 36wks and they said that if my water hadn't broke and it was just contractions- they would have tried to stop them to buy us a few more weeks.

    So since it sounds like you are experiencing contractions enough to consistently feel them, I would go in before it gets too late. Baby still needs a few more weeks in there. At 36wks they were still concerned about her lungs but she turned out fine.

    Thank you everyone for the replies!  Because my contractions have stopped for the most part, they're having me wait until Wednesday's appt. to be seen.  Obviously if things pick up again, they said they'd get me in right away to be checked out/monitored.  Baby is still pretty darn active, too, so that's good!
