When did you get blood work done to confirm pg?

Hi All,

 

I just got a BFP this morning.... I switched OBs after my last miscarriage, so I don't really have a relationship with my current OB. But he told me he would do blood work, clotting factors, and progesterone when I got pregnant again.... But I'm so early (only 11 dpo today). Should I call and request these blood tests? Or just call and see what they say?

 

I'm scared to officially come over here since I'm so early. Yikes - but excited.

    I had mine done at 9DPO.  I saw the faintest of faint lines and would have waited a couple more days, but my OB wouldn't put me on progesterone until I got my levels (betas and progesterone) checked.

    I didn't have any bloodwork done until my first OB appt at 8 weeks, then they did urine, blood, and an ultrasound.

    I had my blood drawn for betas when I was 16 dpo, which was the day after I got my positive. I actually had to request it from my doctor, but I just wanted to know that they were increasing for my own peace of mind, especially because this LO was such a late implanter, and I was terrified that I was going to lose her.

    Congratulations!!  I would go ahead and get the blood work done.  I had my betas done at 11 DPO to confirm.  If there is any question of your progesterone levels, you should definitely get those labs asap.

    First, congrats on your BFP!! 

    I would call today and let them know you are 11dpo, even if they want to wait a few days they will schedule you!

    I had my first set of Betas done at 8DPO (I tested super early and got a decently dark line), and then my second set done at 10DPO.  If you're getting +HPTs then you are pregnant, and your OB did tell you to come in for blood work when you get pregnant again--so that is now!  CONGRATS!  H&H9 to you!

    I had my betas done at 13DPO and followed them a week to make sure it wasn't ectopic.  GL and congratulations!

    Congrats!   I got my BFP over a weekend so I got my 1st test at 13 DPO.   I was also seeing an RE so they wanted to test me right away.

    Congrats! Def agree with PP, give them a call to set up your first appt and see if they want you to come in ASAP for bloodwork to confirm/get all the numbers...  I had my first draw at 14dpo (got my BFP on 12dpo but it was the wkd)

    I got my BFP on a Friday, and Dr. did bloodwork on Monday.  I was approx 5w

    My OB was the first call I made after my + HPT. I was instructed to call because they needed to get me a few prescriptions, then they sent me in for a beta check.

    I just got my BFP yesterday morning.  I called my doctor today and I am going in tomorrow to have a blood test to see where my levels are.  My doctor is going to call me back and go from there. I am 4 1/2 weeks.  I suggest calling your doctor and seeing what they say.

    I called my OB when I took my HPT and she just had some lab orders done up for me.  I didn't have an actual appointment until 9 weeks so I was glad to get blood work and HCG testing done in the meantime.
    Me: 31     DH: 33

    I got my first beta - 32.61

    Progesterone 12.00 

     

    I think they are looking pretty good. I'll know more tomorrow when I get the second beta done.
