Re: Weekend updates

  • I feel like I haven't been here in forever even though it's been less than a week.

Last Tuesday night I picked K up from the airport.

Wednesday - kept LO home from daycare and just hung out with K. Went to lunch at PF Chang's and did a bit of shopping.

Thursday - I started feeling like crap so we sent LO to daycare, went to the chiropractor and slept a bunch.

Friday - called in sick.  Sent LO to daycare again. Then went to a late breakfast with K.  Felt worse so she went out and ran errands while I laid on the couch.

Saturday - I don't remember.  How bad is that? Oh wait! I went to urgent care because I lost hearing in my ear (still don't have it back). Then we went to lunch and did some shopping.

Sunday -  Putzed around the house then all three of us went shopping.  It was the first time K has gone bulk shopping in almost a year (her favorite-lol!) so that took awhile.  Then she feel asleep on the couch while I skyped with a friend.

Did they tell you what was wrong? I hope you are feeling better and the ear problem resolves itself!

Sorta.  I thought it was just plugged with ear wax (I've been told my ear canal is shaped weird and it's prone to backed up ear wax) that needed to be flushed out.  The nursed tried to flush it but nothing changed.  The doc said that either the wax is flat up against the membrane or I have an infection in the middle ear. So it stuck me on antibiotics and said to f/u with my regular doc.  Geez thanks. :-p  So I can't hear out of it at all.  Most of the time I just hear a high pitched ring.  Superior annoying.  And I don't want to with my hearing so I'll be calling my regular doc here in a bit to get in or maybe just go straight to an ENT.

  • Friday:  Movie night with the girls.

Saturday: We had brunch with MIL and SIL's, went back to their house for a while and then headed out to pick up cupcake stuff.  The girls played Memory while I warmed leftovers for dinner, they ate and went straight to bed.  I made rainbow cupcakes for the Chipotle Pride crew and packed snack for us.

Sunday: Stupid cell phone!!!  It's supposed to automatically change the time but there is a little box that has to be checked or unchecked for daylight savings that I didn't know about so I woke up at 4am instead of 5am.  I woke the girls up, got them dressed, and fed them breakfast before J came out to see why I was up so early...  I sent them to lay down for an hour and I crawled back into bed.  We picked J's coworker up (19, newly out, first pride!) and went to the parade, it was so much better this year, more organized and J and I had a better sense of what to do with the kids.  We went to the festival when the parade was over and watched all the older "daddy" types check out J's coworker (who had decided to change into teal booty shorts, lol).  It was cold and rainy so we headed out and stopped to see a friend before leaving town.  We dropped J's coworker and a few cupcakes off at J's old restaurant, then dropped a few more cupcakes off at J's new restaurant before dropping the rest of the cupcakes off at J's parents house.  We had mole with J's mom and then went home to put the girls to bed.  We stayed up to watch Gold Rush, J got tired and went to bed, I stayed up to watch Curiosity - this one talked about the process from conception to birth.  I went to bed and dreamed about using known donor sperm from J's gay coworker to get pregnant...

  • Oh no Two :(  Sorry your reunion w/ K had to be clouded by being sick.  Hope it all clears up soon!!

  • L was off writing this weekend.

Friday I picked up the kids and took them to Target so Gray could pick out his reward for getting 20 "Good Day Sticks" at school. He picked a Lego motorcycle which I spent an hour putting together while they watched a movie. I hate Legos.

Saturday the kids had swimming lessons. We came home and I did yard work, picked up the clutter in the house, and made muffins before a friend of theirs came over for a playdate. His mom stayed so it was nice to have another adult to talk to (though she made me feel old when she said she was going to be an empty nester at 38!) They stayed for 4 hours, which I thought was a long time, but the kids played really well together and had an awesome time. However, they were exhausted and I found them asleep in front of a movie at 7:15. I talked with L via Skype for an hour, which was the longest uninterrupted conversation we have had in a long time. It was really nice.

Sunday I was woken up at 5:10 by Carter coughing and by 5:20 both kids were awake and in my bed. Sigh. So much for the extra hour of sleep. We had a stay at home/pj day. We didn't leave the house all day. I can't tell you the last time that happened. The huge blizzard? The kids had fun making forts, playing with their toys, and playing Wii. I worked on our new money management software, downloaded OS5 to my phone, did laundry, and putzed around the house. The kids played so nicely together. It was awesome. We were all exhausted from being up so early and not napping that they were asleep by 7:30 and I forced myself (why??) to stay awake until 9:30.

  • Friday we went out to a texas bbq-style restaurant for RB's birthday.  The main draw is that they have this fake horse and saddle that birthday people ride.  Its not really meant for kids, but we knew she'd love it.  It cracked up the whole restaurant to see this tiny girl in the saddle with a huge smile shouting "yee haw!"  It was awesome :)  After that we grabbed ice cream and plopped our exhausted birthday girl into bed.

Saturday we went to a kids museum - we go all the time and Daisy mostly hangs out in the ergo and watches, but this time she was really into it all. It was so fun/surprising to see how big she's gotten.  After nap we went to my parents' house for dinner.  We were supposed to go to a make-up Halloween party at the firehouse after that, but for some reason it was cancelled.  So we went for a walk and got ice cream again.

Sunday morning the kids were up early (thank you daylight savings) so we went to a bounce house place to burn some energy. We all had a great time and by 10:30 the kids were asking for lunch and nap.  We decided to press on and squeezed in a Target run, which was a semi nightmare with a melting 2 year old, but we got what we went there for.  Then all 3 went down for a nice long nap.  After nap we did a sensory/art project with shaving cream - DW's Bubby(grandmother) was visiting and I think she was mildly horrified that I would let my kids do such a "messy" project.  But they had a blast, and it was super easy clean up.  Sprout, Daisy and I went for a walk to collect leaves while DW and RB brought Bubby home. Then it was dinner, baths, and bed.  The upside of daylight savings was having 3 exhausted children and easy bed times by 7pm.  DW and I watched Bridesmaids then got to bed early.

  • On Saturday we had brunch and played Scrabble and dominoes with friends of ours who are about 30 years older than us. We always have a great time with them. Afterward we got the car washed and I went grocery shopping while Jen got a haircut. I spent the evening baking and cleaning while she paid bills and packed and we watched bad movies.

I dropped her off at the airport at 5:30am and went home and slept for a few more hours. I went for a run and cooked two dishes for the cookbook club party and did a little more cleaning. The party was small this month (five people), which was really nice, and we had lots of excellent food. My pumpkin pasta was the biggest hit. Smile

Ah sigh. I feel your pain on this one 2brides. E always asks me to put together the most complicated things and by the time I've figured it out she's moved on to something else!

Two, I hope you're feeling better soon! CT, there better be photos of RB in the saddle, I can't wait to see them!

Friday night I used a group.on for a kayaking class at a pool. The class went until 10:30 and it was quite a drive home so a very late night. But it was fun and I'd like to try some more classes.

Saturday I was up early to meet E and her dad at soccer. I left there and went to a ropes course (ziplines, etc.) that is adjacent to a brewery to use another group.on. I spent a couple hours doing the ropes course and then got dinner and beer and went on a tour at the brewery. Then home to chill and watch bad tv.

Sunday I slept in sorta but woke earlier that I hoped, I guess because of the time change. Much of the day was chores and errands, but I carved out a bit of time to go driving around in the area I'm hoping we will move to next summer to scope out neighborhoods. Then it was home to cook a chicken for easy dinner tonight, lots of laundry and more bad tv.

  • We went to a Lehigh football game Saturday, which was a lot of fun. Gwen really likes football, and we sat in the grass this time, instead of trying to get her to sit still on the bleachers, which worked well. She was a happy baby until right at the end, but that's because she missed nap and was tired.

Of course, missing nap Saturday, then losing an hour of sleep because of damn DST made for a cranky little effer on Sunday. But we had no plans, so we just relaxed a lot. Oh and Trav let me sleep in until 10! Yesss!

  • Friday- We did HH with a bunch of co-workers.  It has been a lot of fun working with DW.  Came home, cooked some dinner, and passed out.

Saturday-  Baseline US so DW could start Clomid for cycle #2.  Everything was clear so here we go again.  Rest of the day was errands and then dinner out with friends then we went to Blockbuster for the first time in forever looking for some better movies than Red Box had and left very happy.

Sunday-  We watched movies all morning, ran a few more errands, and then some Ravens football.  I really hope my neighbors are not mad at me for screaming my full head off at 11 oclock at night.  I am really going to have to get my football induced Tourettes under control before we have a baby.  It was a fantastic game that I am really paying for today.  With the DST change is was really like my body's 1 am when I went to be and I was back up for work at 5...ugggg!!!!

We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!
  • I'm back!  Missed you all!

Mostly soaked in a gorgeous baby who is more popular now than I am.  So many visitors!  This mom just realized she hasn't taken a nap since baby has been here.  Whoops.

Now I'm back at work.  And lots lots lots of big changes now. So, I better go prove myself worthy.

For now, we're calling him Lil Punkin---since we got him on Halloween. He's a very good baby, sleeps well. Eats well.

Short story: We were asked to care for him--said yes.  This will definitely be long-term foster care, high probability of adoption. He does have two sisters--but that's a lot. And a whole big post.

  • EratMama, so happy to hear your update, I've been thinking about you and the new little one.

Friday - worked late.  Like 2 a.m. late.  UGH.

Saturday - Worked a little more, took a nap, made an Eid card for my niece and wrapped her Eid and birthday presents.  C got home from Ohio around 7:30 and we went to dinner, then came home and watched some TV together.

Sunday - Errands and grocery shopping, then cooking most of the afternoon for that evening.  Went over to our friends' house for dinner and to hang out with their six month old. It was fun to see the baby and talk to our friends about parenting and having an infant.  He's exploring the world with his mouth right now - pretty funny.

Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm.  I am 35 and carrying.  Endometriosis and DOR.
    AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish

IVF #1 - antagonist.  Empty follicle syndrome.  1 retrieved, 0 fertilized.
    IVF #2 - antagonist.  Ovulated early.  3 retrieved, 2 fertilized, 0 blasts
