Our house varies from 70- 68 ( we dont have the heat on yet ) 2 story house
my Girls will be 4 mo on the 13th. They sleep in cotton feetie pj's or long pj with socks and have a fleece swaddle and sometimes i cover their lower half with a receiving blanket ( but this freaks me out
Is it too cold for them and what should I put them in - WHat do your babes sleep in on colder nights. We live in Nevada ( high desert) It can get pretty cold here
Just wondering

Re: what to wear cooler climate?
Actually, that's in the range of ideal temperature, I've heard standard for comfort is 71 degrees and people often overheat baby's room. Cooler room air (which are better for sleep) and layers (full pjs and a wearable blanket/swaddle) is the way to go (especially since overheating is a SIDS risk-factor). It's not uncommon for their extremities--hands and feet--to get cooler, but as long as they're not waking up because it's cold, or their torsos aren't cold, you're probably good. If you're unsure, you can always get one of these:

Thanks Joy.. I know its standard But I know am freezing but i am also in this new thinner body since loosing a truck load of weight... so I am adjusting .. They dont feel cold and their lil feet and hands are but warm torsos
I just needed to double check ... NEW MOM ya know ...

I am always colder than my kids. They sleep in fleece jammies and under a single blanket. I sleep in fleece pants, long sleeved t, and sweatshirt - under 3 blankets (that is what I get for living with a pre-menopausal woman!)
At the babies age, they slept in fleece one piece/footed pjs in a fleece sleepsack when it was really cold out and a heavy cotton one with the sleepsack when it wasn't so cold. They will let you know if they are cold!
I wrestle with the same issue. Right now he is in two cotton layers - a footed something and then a halo sleep sack with swaddle attachment. On colder nights, I use one layer of fleece. In the middle of winter, I might switch to two fleece layers and have both the pajama and sleep sack be fleece.
We also sometimes put a blanket on his lower half, but I will stop doing that the minute he moves around a bit more.
I have that egg shaped thermometer mentioned above and it actually lists the ideal room temp for sleeping as 65-68. I think babies do run hotter than we do.
This is the worst about the massive weight loss. I am so cold ALL the time. My feet and hands are like ice cubes constantly. Guess those built in heating blankets we had are a good thing to have gone but when it was in the 30's the other night I found myself missing it. But then I remembered all my new clothes and put on another layer.
