S/O Snacks....bedtime snacks for LO?

If your kiddo gets a bedtime snack, what are some good choices?

He always asks for snack mix...like Chex or whatever I make. Sure cereal is fine, but what else can I offer? He has an occasional banana, but gets burned out on them quick. He is offered his dinner milk if he has some left, or water too.

Ideas please! =)

  • Bananas, apple w/ PB, a fruit cup, goldfish crackers, crackers & string cheese, yogurt...those are some examples of what we give when she gets a snack.

  • Ugh, dd would have a hundred bananas a day if we let her. We have to limit her to breakfast banana only.

Last night she saw carrots in the fridge and wanted them, so that is what she got.  Lets see, in this last week she has also gotten tomatos, cheese, pepperoni, peas, and spicy cheetos (she saw dh eating them and started begging).  To drink - milk or water.

  • Bedtime snack as in, in the kitchen before bath and brushing teeth?  Or in bed and still hungry before going to sleep?

For evening before bath snack, they like yogurt, apples, peanut butter on a spoon, graham crackers, cheese, mandran oranges, raisins and other sticky chewy food since they are about to brush their teeth anyway.

For in bed, starving before going to sleep, we offer a whole wheat bagel and water.  It isn't a common thing, but it happens sometimes that the kids say they are still hungry when it is time to sleep.  I have learned it is easier to offer the bagel than give them nothing since I may pay for it around 2-3am.  It is bagel and water only, no other choices.

  • Thanks! It is a snack he asks for while watching his 25 min show before brushing teeth and books/bed. He has never asked for food in bed.
