Re: omg. neighbors are decorating for xmas...

  • We have some houses in our 'hood that never took their lights down.  I guess its never too early!

Our HOA actually has rules about this, you're only supposed to decorate for 30 days before and after the holiday.  Apparently they don't enforce it :)

  • Someone on our street put up their lights on Friday - blasphemy!

While I love Christmas as much as the next person, I don't understand the desire to completely skip over Thanksgiving.

Yes, this! I just put out all my fall decorations that aren't specific to Halloween. I love this time of the year and don't want to skip it!

  • We just took Halloween down today.  I need to enjoy being surrounded by Fall stuff a bit longer.
  • We took down Halloween today, too. They can pry Thanksgiving from my cold, dead hands.......
  • Two houses already have their lights up, and turn them on every night. Crazy!!
  • Ok ok. I guess my problem is that I don't have any fall/thanksgiving decorations! just halloween then xmas. Guess it's an excuse to go shopping!

Seriously.  It makes me irrationally angry when people/stores/whatever skip to Christmas immediately following Halloween.

uh oh!  didn't mean to make you think of getting irrationally angry.  I decided I'm just going to get a gang of wild turkeys and keep them in a pen in my front yard as decorations.

  • if you put up decorations i'm stealing them and will promptly return them on november 25.  tia.

    LOVE.

Respect the turkey, BM, or he'll bite you.

Oh - that totally wasn't directed at you, per se.  I just flip my shiit when you go to the mall on November 1 and Santa has already shown up.  Because now my kid wants to go say "hey" and start asking for presents.

  • The one and only upside to the early Christmas decorating and Santa being at the mall: I can now safely tell my children "Santa Claus is watching you..." and they'll believe me. Devil

This must be my issue as well.  It will be a small miracle if my house isn't fully decorated by Thanksgiving.

I'm not sure it matters-- we aren't hosting and don't have yard ornaments. That means I'm okay, right?  And Millie, you can come hang out at my house. I'll play loud Christmas music for full effect!

I'll be there, too! I have a hard enough time getting seasonal decorating done, period (hint: my orange/pumpkin scented candles from last year are still out). There is no way I could decorate for Halloween, and then Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. So I say just skip Halloween, then decorate for Christmas on November 1!

P.S. I may or may not LOVE Christmas, and be slightly obsessed with Christmas music.

I'm in!  I've already started singing LO Christmas carols.
