If they are printed with an individual message, I have never really seen to point of signing them myself. The way I see it, having them professionally printed makes them look so much nicer, why ruin that with an ugly, personal signature? And if DH signs it, it really looks bad. No one can read his signature.
I'm now starting to rethink my Xmas card writing as I usually have a greeting printed and/or our names with it AND then I also usually write a little sentiment. I know it's a lot of work, but I just feel like I have to add another little personal touch.
I hand make our cards complete with photos (now that we have a munchkin). I stamp a greeting and we sign our names. I then print out a short letter to include which has our updates from the year for those we're not in close contact with.

I agree - i prefer it with a personal touch beyond what you paid the printer to do. ;-)

I know. Your cards are awesome and you make me feel like a slacker. Maybe next year I'll get back on the hand-making bandwagon. I really enjoyed it. But yeesh -we're sending out roughly 75 cards this year. That's a lot of hand making.

They designs we choose usually aren't one sided so there's not really a place to write on them w/out detracting from the adorableness of the card.
