Could it be???? Flicking sensation

I know it probably isn't but 3 times this week I got this feeling in my lower stomach. Most recently this morning as I was lying in bed.  It feels like someone is taking their fingers and lightly flicking the inside of my stomach.  What do you think?  Am I too early?  Could it just be like extra blood flow to the uterus?  Either way, I like it! :-)

Re: Could it be???? Flicking sensation

  • It could be!  I felt something similar around 12 weeks so it's possible!

  • Sounds like movement to me. That's what it feels like when it's kicking or pushing against my uterus.

It's a fun and amazing feeling, that's for sure!

I felt DS at around 15-16 weeks, and felt this one first flutter around 11 weeks (I actually think I felt it once around 10 1/2 weeks, but it's whatever)... You know what it feels like, and tell your OB to shut it. Smile

  • I got somewhat chastised yesterday regarding my movement post becausesome thought it can't be felt until 18-20 weeks. I started feeling butterfly  flutters around 12 weeks and late this week developed a strange sensation of a leap frog hopping into my uterus....it makes me giggle!

No one knows your body better than you so no one can tell you whether you did or not. Sounds like you have!

I felt a few twinges (only twice) that lasted maaaybe 4 seconds. Then yesterday I was laying down and I felt the WEIRDEST feeling. It almost felt like the inside of my belly was being scratched by a comb (only lasted a second) and then felt like my whole stomach flipped. It felt very weird.

So for me I can't say for certain since I have no idea what it should feel like, but those couple times do stick out to me and I really do wonder if it was baby :)

I have felt this too, but I didn't think it could be the baby!

  • I keep feeling/imagining this kind of thing too.  I don't know if I'm feeling the baby, feeling a vein pulsing, or completely making it up.  Looking forward to when I no longer have to wonder what I'm feeling.

  • Everyone's body is different. Some people are more in tune with their body than others, and each milestone in pregnancy can come sooner or later for others. I started feeling flutters at the end of my 13th week. I was also scolded by "pregnancy veterans" and said it wasn't flutters, that I was making it up. Ummm...okay then! I definitely know my body, and this was not just stretching or blood flow. Once you feel it, it's kind of hard not to notice. It's pretty recognizable. I would say, it most definitely was baby flutters.

  • Absolutely, that's exactly what it felt like the first time I felt my first son moving... right around 12 weeks.
After 7 failed IUIs, IVF w/ ICSI worked!!

I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.

And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
