Whats your favorite "quick" workout?

I used to love marathon runs (60-70  minutes) but lets face it...that kind of "me" time is not available anymore so I've been trying to find workouts that take 30-minutes max and still provide a good workout.

I've been doing the 30-minute Express circuit at Planet Fitness, and have been impressed with it. Unlike Curves, the weights are adjustable so you can keep making it harder and the steps are higher so you can get a good aerobic step going..I'm a fan.

I bought the Jillian Michaels 30-day shred but haven't tried it yet. Also have the 10-minute solutions HipHop Workout--not a fan, didn't feel like I was really getting anything out of it.

What quick workouts do you love/suggest?

  • I don't normally post on this website but have you ever looked into crossfit? I work at a law enforcement training center and this is ususally what we turn to when we need a quick workout. They have a great website and if you explore a little bit you can usually find something that works for you. They post a workout every day (called WOD) but I normally go for the workouts with some form of cardio or their tabata workouts instead of the one rep max exercises.   • I mix up my cardio...10 min on stairs, 10 min on eliptical, and 10 min fast run on treadmill..along with abs..I do this 3x a week, and the other 2x I do 20 minutes on treadmill and strength training, sometimes I take a class which helps

  • Yoga. When I feel the need, I will do sun salutations until my body feels satisfied. I love that I can really do it anywhere.

  • My favorite quick workout is 20 minutes on the treadmill alternating 9 mph running and 3 mph walking for sixty seconds at a time.
  • My favorite quick workout is doing interval training while running, or running hills.

    I suggest Crossfit too.  Many of their WOD's are super intense, but short - rarely longer than 20 minutes.  You can do most of them with little equipment too, so you can squeeze in workouts at home without even having to leave to get to the gym.
