I've already put in a call to the pedi - nurse's line wjust ants us to keep an eye on him and gave us symptoms to watch for, but I requested the on-call pedi call us back b/c I'm fairly concerned.
Last night, I gave Will some Benadryl b/c he was having horrible allergy symptoms - itchy/watery eyes, sneezing/runny nose, etc. I thought it might help relieve some of those so he could sleep - he's had it before with no weird reactions, so I didn't think twice. He went to bed, woke up an hour later really sweaty and clammy and shaking. He wanted juice, so while I got him that DH looked up side effects of Benadryl and jittery/shaking was one of them. We put him in our bed, he went back to sleep and he slept with us all night [so I could check and make sure he was breathing every 2.5 seconds
].
Woke up this morning and he's still shaky, though not nearly as bad as last night. It reminded me of when my blood sugar gets low, so I tried to get him to eat something [he ate a few bites of a waffle], but it hasn't really helped much. No fever, hasn't had any other medications since 7pm last night, and is acting normal for having a bad cold and/or allergies.
Has anyone heard of this before?
