If you have a facebook, when do you plan to make a pregnancy announcement?
I haven't yet, and won't for a little bit.. but I'm so dying to.
Ugh. I'm so terrible at secrets. I'm not quite ready to tell the world, but I'm very anxious to. (I realize that's conflicting, too).

This exactly. I've has so many facebook friends recently announce, only to sadly have to go back a few days or weeks later with a miscarriage announcement, and I do not want to have to go through that. I don't think I will announce on FB. I'm a private person, and it's just not my thing.

I feel this exact same way! I'm not sure when I'll annouce on FB....
i wasnt going to until after my sister gave birth in february. too late of course because my family has taken it upon themselves to congratulate me and ask all their questions on my wall.
if one day you feel comfortable doing it then go for it. its all up to you. maybe you could share something big like your first ultrasound, or when you find out the sex, or when you notice that your new pictures aren't helping you keep the secret.

For us, I will never be making a FB announcement. I learned my lesson last time. We got excited and announced at 10 weeks and three days later, I had a miscarriage. I ended up sending mass messages to all who had congratulated us and hoped the rest didn't see the original announcement, but there was a random comment here and there after about how my pregnancy was going and kept having to send more messages.
(Sorry to answer with such a buzzkill response...)

not until after we tell the family at christmas. but DH's family is weird, and many of them live overseas, so we're actually planning on sending "We're Expecting" announcements over snail mail so that they *hoepfully* will receive it around Christmas time.
So after we're pretty sure all those overseas people have gotten their cards, we'll do a FB announcement. We don't want to risk any of DH's extended family getting upset that they had to find out via FB, or that so-and-so found out before them (i told you, they're weird).
Make a pregnancy ticker
we already did, but we had so many people on there, and my blog that were praying for us through the loss of our daughter, and we wanted to share. we need all the prayers we can get that it doesn't happen again.
i had a mc before too, and yea it sucks "untelling" but again, it's that many more people praying. so i don't mind.

I definitely won't post anything until all the important people know and we're comfortably past the first trimester. My birthday's in early January, so maybe I'll put something up then. I wouldn't really bother, but I do have some distant relatives and friends who I don't see or talk to all the time and FB is the best way for us to keep up with each other, so I'll put something up for their sake.
There's this running joke with a guy friend of mine who asks if I'm pregnant at pretty much any random post. I think I'll start it this time; "Hey Jerry, guess what!"
