  • I think it's just because people don't really decorate for Thanksgiving.  It's all about the food/family instead.  Most stores have huge displays set up for traditional Thanksgiving food and that's about as much as I notice.

Yeah I know. I still have my fall decorations up! I love the fall colors more! I just hate that the stores start to rush the consumers to start buying NOW by putting all this stuff out and playing Christmas songs.

  • I know. There were several stores around here that had Christmas stuff up at the end of September! I love Nordstrom for not doing Christmas decor until the day after Thanksgiving.

  • I wish Thanksgiving had more emphasis, too. I think it's a much under appreciated holiday - it seems to be all about gorging yourself on fattening food (which I honestly can't deny doing myself) and less about really being thankful. Plus, it isn't as much of a moneymaker as Halloween and Xmas. And it shouldn't be, I suppose. But yeah, I LOVE fall decor and Thanksgiving, I love to cook =)

  • I think it is because Christmas is very exciting. Thanksgiving is warm and fuzzy, and delicious, but not too thrilling in my opinion.

  • Thanksgiving is really just a meal. Not too much to decorate for besides fall decorations and such which I usually put up for Halloween.  I usually wait to decorate till after Thanksgiving for Christmas but not this year I'm probably getting started next weekend so that I'm prepared if baby comes early.

  • I'm making a fabric wall decal of a Turkey to hang in the family room.  :)  I'll "glue" it on the wall using corn starch and water.  Since it's fabric I can take it down and use it again next year!  I may make some pumpkins too.

I think I'm going a little overboard on the wall decals though.  All well!  They're easy to store!  :)
