Stopped STTN?

I hope someone has some insight... maybe I just need to be patient.

LO started STTN around 12 weeks and that amount of time has ranged usually around 8-10 hours. Within the past couple weeks he has only slept thru for 2 nights. He has been teething and his two bottom teeth have cut through. For the past day or two, he has finally started acting like his old self, but last night still woke up at 3 (it's almost always between 3-4 that he wakes up)

Sometimes he will randomly wake up and put himself back to sleep but around 3-4 he's awake, eyes wide open and fussing which eventually turns to crying. A couple of times we could tell it was teeth or gas, but some nights it's like he is just Awake for no apparent reason but isn't content for a bit. It's definitely not hunger as we have gone through those wakings various times when he needed more formula throughout the day and this is different.

Is it just a stage? Can teething disrupt sleep for this long?

I'm such an overanalyzer it's ridiculous! I kind of drive myself crazy but once you get used to STTN, it's tough to get back adjusted to a wake up in the middle of the night!

Re: Stopped STTN?

  • I'm going through the same thing. First he was sick, then teething and his sleep is still all messed up. It started right around 5 months for us too. He was waking up every hour and then from 3-6 more like every 45 minutes. And as soon as we would put him back down in the crib he would wake right up and cry again. So frustrating!

I don't really have any advice, I'm just hoping that it's a phase and eventually he'll get back to sleeping longer stretches. I don't even care if he STTN anymore, I just want to sleep longer than an hour at a time!

  • growth spurt. it is happening here at my house. she wants to feed and that is it. she is also teething but she has been teething since 3 1/2 months but right now she has a runny nose with the teething so I think that bothers her as well. it is just a phase and hopefully soon we all will be back to our babies STTN
