Having myself a wee little pity party as some of my ladies are out on a girls night out and I'm not. It's an annual thing and they're friends of friends so it's not something I was personally invited to and the bus is full anyway. Either way, I know they'll have a blast and I could really use something like that.
Anyway, I braved the stores today to do some much needed grocery shopping. With starting the addition I just haven't had the time. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't as crazy busy as I was expecting, plus I found rockstar parking right up front. The best part was stopping in to pick up some wine and being given a bunch of wine points (you save them for liquor store gift cards) that previous customers didn't want. Score!:)
Re: Anyone else with a boring evening ahead?

Pretty uneventful day here. We hung out at home in the morning. After nap, we all went out to look for some new shoes for DH. He has wide feet, arch issues, yadda, yadda, so it's always an ordeal. We went two places and found nada. Famous Footwear was pretty disappointing with their selection. The Skechers store didn't have much that appealed to him either, so guess I'm going to start looking online.
Kids are eating now, we'll eat after they go to bed and then probably vegging on the couch. Oh, and I gotta' clean the bathroom. Weeeeee!
DH is the same way. He can't just walk into a store and buy a pair of shoes, he has to go to a local store that specializes in assisting with his needs (which I can't keep up with anymore). I don't know what I'd do with myself if I had to do that...I'm a lover of shoe shopping:) DH usually wears work boots and his hiking/tennis shoes though.

I'm sorry you weren't invited out, I know how that feels. I have a close friend from high school and we still keep in touch and hang out every few months. Then she introduced me to all of her college friends and I really like all of them. Sometimes I get invited along, but most of the times, I just see all of the fun they are having, by seeing the pictures on facebook. I know that I have no reason to expect to be invited, but it still makes me sad!
Anyway, yes, I'm also having a boring night... DD and I are eating leftover pizza for dinner right now, and she'll go to bed around 8, and DH gets home around 9:30 hopefully!
I'm sorry you're feeling down. We had a boring night here too. And off the subject- why were you expecting it to be crazy busy at the store? I feel like I sm missing something today. It WAS crazy busy everywhere I went but can't figure out why. (as in we did not go to the mall to get DH shoes because the traffic to get there was awful, like worse than close to holiday's awful) What am I missing?
Saturday afternoons this time of year are usually pretty crazy, both at the mall (where Target is an anchor store) and at our local grocery. They had some really good deals too so I was surprised there weren't more people out and about. Especially with the hunting opener, figured all the hunting "widows" would make a girl's day of it. Thinking I just got lucky and everyone else thought the same thing and stayed home, lol.

That pretty much sums it up. I have been friends with one of them since we were little, she got to know my other good friend and they're both out with this group tonight, plus they're hanging out with others we don't get to see often. If I still lived in my hometown I'd go out for a bit and join them. However I'm an hour away and those kind of nights need to be planned and that hasn't been very possible lately. I just happen to catch the event on FB when my friends rsvp'd.
I think today's technology makes it tougher as well. Pictures are being taken and uploaded via smartphones and so I'm seeing the good time as it's happening. That kinda sucks.....

Just think, you won't have to deal with achy feet or a hangover tomorrow! That's what helps me overcome my jealousy : )
Well, that, and online shopping!!
Lol, true. I can enjoy my wine in my jammies hanging out in my cozy house. It's crazy windy here and pretty chilly as well. If the fireplace had been inspected already I'd say we should light a fire with a good movie but I don't want to set the house on fire (or worry about it).
I wish I had more concrete ideas for Christmas, I'd do some serious online shopping right now:)
ETA: Wanted to clarify: We should light a fire and watch a good movie, not light the fire with the movie, lol.

It has been an uneventful day here. DS is sick so just hung out at home today. My night has consisted of dinner, cleaning, bedtime routine, and putting DD to bed a million times. We kept DS and DD up until about 9:15 so that they are hopefully not up at 5am tomorrow with the time change. Well, not so sure that was a good idea, DS just fell asleep and DD is still awake and has gotten up about 6 times in the past hour. We are now watching the LSU vs. Alabama football game. We are so exciting here!!!!
Sorry you are at home and not out with the girls. That really sucks. I was supposed to have Mom's night out this week and DH told me today he will be OOT for work that day and I don't have another sitter. I was really looking forward to it bu I guess I will be home with the kids instead.
