New to The Bump

Newbie

Hi everyone,

I am new to baby boards, since this is my first child and it wasn't exactly planned lol. I am also a newlywed as of 10.29.11. I am almost 20 weeks pregnant, and we find out the sex this coming Thursday. Hmm what else? I am a 3rd year PhD student (hence the screenname) and super excited yet nervous about being navigating my new roles as wife and mother simultaneously, in addition to balancing my graduate studies.

I am planning on having a natural birth, cloth diapering, and making my own baby food, so any tips are greatly appreciated.

Fun fact: I felt the baby move for the first time on the 5 yr anniversary of my now husband offering me a ride home from work (10.26.11). I kept telling him I hoped we felt the baby move on our wedding day, and he told me not to get my heart set on it, because I can be a bit of a planner, and the baby surprised us by moving 3 days earlier on a special day :)

Re: Newbie

  • Welcome.

There's a cloth diaper and natural birth board, so feel free to check them out. But be prepared for any eventuality. Making your own baby food is sinfully easy: steam, blend, freeze. I love the Williams Sonoma book Baby and Toddler Cookbook. There several DIY baby food websites.
