Taking a break?

Hi ladies,

Before I was pregnant I did triathlons, 5ks, 10ks, really long bike-a-thons, etc on a regular basis.  My typical workout routine is 5 or 6 days a week with a combination of running, spin, bodypump, and yoga.  I feel like I've hit a wall this week and have zero motivation to work out.  I know that taking a break once in a while is a good idea to let your body recover and such, but what about now (during pregnancy)?  Should I just take the week off or should I lighten up and stick to yoga and walking to keep myself moving for the week?

Re: Taking a break?

  • I?m a total Beachbody freak (TurboFire, ChaLEAN Extreme, INSANITY).  I was half way through TruboFIRE when I had to hang it up for a more tuned down program.  I started doing with lower impact workouts with TurboFire and ChaLEAN Extreme and added Yoga Booty Ballet: Baby on the Way during the last part of my first trimester and my second trimester.  As I?ve entered my third trimester I?m just doing YBB: Baby on the Way, speed waking and my girls play soccer leaving me coaching or refing 3 nights a week.

Yes I?ve taken week breaks here in there due to fatigue and life but listen to your body and do what you feel is best.  I too feel like a sissy at times b/c I?m not on the fitness level that I wanted to be but life happens and I?ve listened to my body and my pregnancy.
