It's Friday (woo-hoo!) and that means it's time for FFFC! What's your confession this week? Anything you need to get off of your chest?

Re: Flame Free Friday Confession!

  • Okay, here's mine. It might be a quasi vent/confession. I'm flipping miserable. I can't wait to be done being pregnant. It took a lot for us to get here and I'm so thankful, but, I'm done. I'm dealing with severe pelvic pain (diagnosed with SPD) I don't sleep at all and my hormones are making me feel nutty, like, cry at the drop of a hat nutty and I can't concentrate at work to save my life. I tried telling my midwife this last night, explaining that walking is extremely painful, I don't sleep, etc. and asked if she could write me out of work, medically,  a week before my due date. I feel as though I was basically dismissed and my feelings and issues were in no way heard. She said we would just reassess at 38 weeks. I feel so defeated, in pain, exhausted, and am on the verge of tears even thinking about it.

I know midwife care is more laid back but the feeling of being dismissed has been a common one lately. Sorry for the novel, I just needed to get it out there.

I'm sorry you are in so much misery!  THe last few weeks are so hard.  Is there any way you can start your maternity leave sooner?
Try to take 1 day each week and do something by yourself: Shop if you need to, get your nails/toes done, get a massage, meet friends for lunch that you won't get to see when you are on maternity leave.  Find things to look forwad to which might help you forgot how miserable you are.

Hang in there, you are so close!

  • DH needs a new car, like his car could decide not to start any day (some days doesn't), it smells because he had a keg of beer leak in the trunk about a year ago, he has part of the seal of his windshield taped on and his blinker is broken so the "click click click" thing never stops.

We have money sitting in the checking account so he can go buy a new one.  He even knows what he wants, but he won't freaking do it and it's dirivng me crazy!  My confession is I want him to buy his car already so I can spend the rest of the money he doesn't spend on the car on furniture I've been eyeing for months and I'm more motivated by that then by him actualy getting a car that he wants.

  • I'm dying my own hair with a box color tonight. My first time ever. I pretty much feel like a frumpy country mom for doing this, but to be honest the thought of trying to schedule a good time for a hair color & pay $80 for all over color when I'm going with my natural color at the moment anyway just sounds exhausting. I saw my hair in a photo recently & was horrified (all over color faded where highlights used to be). So here goes...

Are we married to the same man? Our old car had a cracked exhaust manifold, broken sunroof (DH screwed plexy glass to the top), seatbelts needed to be replaced.....the list went on, but he would pull the trigger to get a car. So I found the car I wanted and when I found the perfect car (with his requirements) I told him we were going to test drive it (and I knew I could get him to buy it) and we basically showed up and signed a check on the spot.

  • I hate having the neighbor kids over to play. The girl is DD's age but the boy is older, and they always come together. DH or I usually have to entertain the boy. It's more exhausting to have them over then dealing with DD alone.

No flames here. I do the same thing when doing an all over color. I've found that the box works just as well, and lasts just as long as if it would if I paid $60+ at the salon. Highlights are a different story, but I only get them every several years anyway, and just once or twice over the summer.

I love hair color in a box that costs $5 and I can do at night after LO goes to bed. It's cheaper and way easier than getting to an appointment!

Man- I have thought so many times about doing this recently. I'm to nervous. I used to do my own hair years ago in college- with mixed results. Please let us know how your shot at it goes. It may give me some courage to save on my normal appointments!

  • DH has been working 10+ hours a day 6 days a week for almost 4 months. I am so close to losing my stay at home mind. I feel like the worst mom and wife. I have no patience and yell too much, I'm tired all the time and my house is a wreck. Today I put both boys in their rooms and went and layed in bed for an hour just for a break from it all. I'm falling to pieces over the littlest things and just want to runaway. Guess that was more of a vent.
