When did you start taking BCP for IVF?

I am in a little bit of a pickle... we had our first IVF consult about 2 weeks ago and at the time, even though we were pretty sure, we weren't 100% committed to starting IVF right away. During the appointment, he gave us a example of a possible schedule we would have if we decided to move forward, but said we would talk at the mock transfer/meds instruction that we have scheduled for this coming Monday, Nov. 7.

During the consult, I think he said I should start BCP on day 2 of my Nov. cycle. I wasn't too worried about this because I figured I would start this Monday (7th) or Tuesday and I could just ask him when to start BCP at the mock transfer. But OF COURSE, I just started about 30 minutes ago and of COURSE the office is closed.. I just tried to call and ask.

So, when did you start BCP? It is typically day 2, or is that just something my doc could have planned for me, specific to my needs? I have the pills, just don't know if I should start them tomorrow without talking to him first or not. But on the other hand, if I don't start tomorrow and I am supposed to, then I feel like I might screw something up! I can't talk to him until Monday morning. Ughhh! What would you do?

    Is there not an after hours number for you clinic?  It might not be fast, but I'll get a call back from a Dr. if I need one after hours or over the weekend

    Testing - Me ok, gluten issue? DH - borderline count, low motility
    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d
    7/3, 7/31, 9/25 - IUI#2-4=BFN
    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d
    4/20-surprise BFP and another c/p 4w2d
    FET#2 7/16/12 - 2 blasts = BFN
    FET#3 8/20/12 - 1 blast - BFP!! Beta #1-2=177, 354
    1st u/s 5w6d, one beautiful little HB :), 2nd u/s 146bpm
    baby girl born 5/10/13

    TTC#2 since 12/17/2014, Cycle 8
    Repeat Testing...FSH=12, AMH=3.8, AFC=28. 
    IUI#5 5/10/15- c/p?
    IVF#2 8/19/15 - cancelled due to cysts
    IVF#2 take two 10/2015 - 5 blasts frozen
    FET#4 12/11/2015 - BFN - 4 blasts remaining
    FET#5 2/18/16 - BFP!!!  Beta1-3, 126, 250, 745!!

    I just called and the only option is to 'press 0 for an emergency'.. I don't know if this qualifies as an emergency.. ha

    Ughh I don't know what to do! Can it hurt to start BCP a few days early, if I am wrong?  I would only be taking it tomorrow and Sunday before I would get to ask him on Monday. I think he said I would only be on it for 10 days. I am so mad because I recorded the consult and my stupid iphone lost it when I updated! Grr!

    I did start mine on CD2 and will be on them for 3 weeks total, lupron starts on the last week, which is Monday for me. That being said, I don't know if I would start taking them if you aren't sure that's what your protocol is supposed to be.

    I also will start on CD 2. Ill be on them for 6 weeks. We wanted to use my natural cycles which leaves 6 or 2 weeks based on my start date for stims. Since my RE wants me to down regulate for at least 4 weeks with b/c we picked this cycle. Hope this makes sense.... Edit: flipping auto correct

    I would call the after hours line if there is one. For what it is worth, I started my BCP CD4. 

    IVF #1 ET 1 d3 embryo 10/30/11 BFP
    3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)

    DS born 07/29/12

    FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN

    FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP :(
