And it made me realize how out of shape I had gotten. But I also felt pretty damn good about getting on it. So I vow to get on the treadmill a minimum of 3 times a week. Next week on Monday, I am starting the Couch to 5k program. I downloaded the app into my phone & downloaded the music pod casts into my cell phone as well. You can get the pod casts from here: https://www.djsteveboy.com/1day25k.html

Re: I Got On The Treadmill Yesterday....
I'm with you! I started the Couch to 5K program three weeks ago, I'm starting week 4 today. It's amazing how much energy I have now that I've gotten started. I just printed out the program from Cool Runnings: https://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
What I like about the program is that it's gradual enough that my muscles didn't hurt the first few weeks. The key was to stretch well afterward. When I work out at home, I put my DS in his exersaucer next to me and he plays while I run. If I'm really lucky, he is patient while I take a quick shower too (depends on the day).
I'm also doing some strength exercises twice a week on the machines at the gym after a 5 minute walking warm-up on the treadmill. I follow up the routine with my Couch to 5K right afterward, and it's easier to do after I've warmed up on the machines.
I'm also doing Weight Watchers (online, I'm not a meetings kind of person) and it helps me track my measurements. I'm already losing fat from my waist, hips, arms and legs.
YAY! If you want more running friends on https://dailymile.com please find me. I'm the only Shaindel there, so it should be pretty easy :-)
I have it set up so my running times/distances are sent to Facebook and Twitter, so I think it really helps me with accountability :-)
Mac and cheese lover!
Mac and cheese lover!
P just went down for his nap so i'm bumping. You just motivated me to hop on the treadmill instead. Hopefully my elephant-like stomping won't wake him up
Thanks for the motivation!
Yes, girl, get on that treadmill while LO is napping!
I need to follow suit! I don't know what I was thinking, but I signed up for a half marathon in January. The farthest I've ever run before was 6 miles, and that is when I was in great shape on the crew team in college. I haven't run since early in my pregnancy and somehow I need to make it 13 miles in 3 months. Time to accept what I've done and get on the treadmill as well.
Good luck to everyone else trying to get back on there!
