C-sections

Starting to chicken out about my planned c-section

My section is scheduled for December 16.  My doctor and I feel this is the best choice for me because I had such a terrible 4th degree episiotomy with my son(terrible recovery and I still have problems from it).  Now, that the date is getting closer, I'm starting to have second thoughts.  I'm just scared and want to know I'm making the right decision for my body, but I know I won't know that until after the fact.  No point to this post, just a small vent.

  • Good luck with your decision!  It can't be an easy one.

  • Everything will go just fine, K.  It's normal to be nervous.  If you weren't planning the c/s, you'd probably be nervous about having another 4th degree tear, right?  This way, you know that won't happen.

    GL with everything.

  • I'm nervous and I've already had one.  Nerves are normal and I know I'd be nervous if I were trying for a vaginal delivery too.  My c-section with my son was so far from "normal" that I worry because it wasn't a great experience, but I know this time around will be totally different too.  Still doesn't take away the apprehension I'm feeling.

  • i just had a scheduled c-section..and everything went great. i CANNOT imagine taking care of a newborn and having a 4th degree tear to deal with as well..honestly, i'd much rather my incision on my abdomen
