Breast Pumps

I know this was asked before but I didn't feel like digging to find it.

Which ones do you ladies recommend that aren't super expensive? Have any of you bought them used before?

Re: Breast Pumps

  • I was happy with and will use this time the Lansinoh double breast pump (or whatever it's called).

  • I have the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra and it works well thus far (to be fair, I've only been pumping for about a week).

  • Mine is a Medela PIS.  It has worked fine and I'll be done with it on Friday.  Wooofreakinghooooo!
  • I bought the Medela Swing. It was a great pump, but only a single pump. Even though I only pumped occasionally, I wished I had the double pump. If I could do it over again, I would get the Lansinoh Double pump.

  • I have the Lansinoh Double.. it was awful at first and would shut off frequently and randomly, but the manufacturer's sent me a replacement really quickly & I am much more pleased with it now.

  • Be sure to check with your insurance to find out if any part of it is covered. I loved my Medela pump in style.

  • Here's a link to a site that says reasons it can be covered by insurance. Zoe has a weak suck and poor tongue position, so the hospital  pump was covered for a few months.

  • I have a medela pump in style and I love it.  I got it for MUCH cheaper at Baby Depot (Burlington Coat Factory), plus I had a 15% off coupon.
  • I have been happy with the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra so far. I have not returned to work yet so I am just using it at home.
