wth is wrong with people?!

Why is it that when I tell people we are having twin boys I usually get the response "boys? your husband must be thrilled!". Um, ya he is. We BOTH are!

    They would have really been floored then when my response would have been, "Well I am for sure, but he was really hoping for at least one daddy's girl."  My husband did not follow along with the whole 'men want baby boys' thing that seems to be so common.  We both would have been more than happy either way, but we did have slight preferences for which sexes we wanted, and they were apparently backward from most other people's.  ;)

    totally agree. we both wanted one of each and dh worries we wont have a little girl for him to walk down the aisle someday. He is thrilled to have two boys to do "boy things" with, but mostly we are just excited to be having two healthy babies regardless of gender

    Isn't that weird?  I don't get it either.

    Yup I get this every single time I tell someone we're having two boys also.  People are just annoying.
    Natural BFP - 2/13/10, Natural M/C - 3/9/10 (Missed m/c found at 8wks 4days) Prenatal B/W shows I'm a Beta Thal carrier & so is DH. Onto IVF w/PGD... Jan 2011 - IVF #1 - C/P Mar 2011 - IVF #2 - Day 5 PGD, no ET, 5 snow babies May 2011 - FET #1 - BFP!! Twins!!! 2/9/12 - Our precious miracles arrived! Baby A 7lbs 13oz & Baby B 5lbs 13oz

    This is the SAME exact thing I was going to reply! It makes me so angry... Just once I want to reply something totally snotty like "Yea, since we didn't get at least one boy, DH is all for putting these babies up for adoption and trying for better luck next time." Can you imagine the reaction the person would have then?! We are both thrilled for two girls! (and would have been thrilled for any other combo as well!) Some people need to just keep their traps shut...

    I actually had a co-worker insisting that my husband was lying when he told me he wanted a girl. People are stupid.

    TTC since 5/10

    we're expecting two girls and always get "oh your poor husband" comments...which is pretty bad too. People are just dumb...

    We already have two girls, so when we say we're having boys, we get the same reactions.  Yes we are excited to be having boys, but would have been just as excited for girls - just like we were for our singletons...

    I get a bit bothered when people tell me that my twins look nothing alike.  They are b/g and one is blonde blue eyed, and the other has dark brown hair and hazelish/green eyes.  It makes me uncomfortable because I always had this irrational fear that somehow my eggs or DH's sperm was mixed up in the IVF lab.  So it just fuels that feeling, LOL.

    Hmm. I don't remember people saying that a lot. So either they didn't or it will fade from your memory in about 3 years. ;)
