s/o carseats...is your Marathon tethered if RF?

We just got DS's seat and I'm curious. In the booklet, it recommends tethering it down, but I thought I remembered reading, in a post, that it should still be able to rebound. We have an x5 if that makes a difference.

  • We did not tether ours and I felt comfortable with that decision.

  • 50% of the time we tether it loosely to the seat post in front.  I wish it was more but when we're switching carseats in the morning before the work/school rush it just doesn't happen.  But I prefer it tethered, I think that its pretty important in case of a roll-over.
  • My understanding is that the tether isn't supposed to be so tight that it prevents all movement or even pulls back on the seat back. It's supposed to be just snug enough to protect in a high force collision

We have ours tethered to the passenger seat leg.

  • Ours is tethered to the back of the seat.

  • Ours is tethered like a PP mentions - loosely, and to where the front passenger seat bolts to the floor.

  • Ours is not, but it's about to be. In the beginning, I didn't want to. Now, I feel like it really needs that added security.
