Infant to Convertible Car Seat - Clicky

Hi! We have moved Andrew from the Infant Carrier to the Convertible Car Seat but I think we might have moved him to soon.  I noticed that when he falls asleep in the car his head falls forward or to the side, so I am wondering if we should move him back to the infant carrier. He is 22 pounds so when I tote the IC he is heavy.

  • I didn't move my oldest until 13 months, but she's only 18.5 lbs now (at 15 months), soo...

How is his head control?  If you're not confident with the convertible, you could move him back to the carrier, but treat it as a convertible and never remove it from the car so it's not so heavy!  Aldo, does your convertible recline?  I remember having no clue that mine did until a friend pointed it out (but I could just be a dummy. =))

  • We just moved DD about a week ago, so at almost 17 months. DD is a peanut - she is just now reaching the length limit of 30." We probably could still use it because she's probably only 29", but I didn't want to push it. Like KA mentioned, you can just leave it in the car. I hadn't taken the carrier out of the car in months.

  • We moved DD around 7 months, but I wanted to mention that DD is 2 years old, 33lbs, in a FF seat and her head still flops forward most of the times she falls asleep.
  • We moved both of ours around 5 or 6 months.  He's still rear facing, right?  Check the recline and be sure you're getting his bottom down in the bucket part of the seat, so he's positioned properly.  Our seats have an infant insert, so you might check to see if yours has one.
  • I don't remember the age we moved her, but a couple months ago. She still uses the infant in my mother's car, but she's ridiculously huge in it. She's 29" and 25 pounds, and we had the convertable, so we just went ahead.

I just wanted to say, her head also slumps forward when she's sleeping. Or to the side. She's had excellant head/neck control - almost from birth, so I think she's fine.

  • we moved lily and eve around 9 months i think.  annie is 10 months and we haven't moved her becuase we are waiting to get a used convertible seat from my mom when we visit in november.  we'll bring her home from that trip in the convertible- she will be 11mo old :)
