This site was always circulating when I was pregnant the first time around so that's how I knew about the J&J products. It's a good site to go and search the safety of your (and LO's) skincare products. https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/
I use the J&J Naturals because it's what I was given. I also fed my kid Earth's Best which has BPA in the lids. When I run out of the J&J I might buy a different brand. But there will probably be something wrong with other products, too. It's always something. It's kind of like putting a filter on your tap water to drink but bathing/showering in that same water and absorbing it all that way. There's only so much you can do to protect yourself and as much as I'd love to put DS in a bubble to protect him from everything, it's obviously not realistic. I don't think the little bit of body wash we use on him will give him cancer, but I guess you never know and I'm sure if down the road he develops it, I'll blame myself because that's what Moms do.
I read somewhere several years ago that J&J normal stuff was one of the worst products to use because of all the crap they put in it. Their naturals stuff is a bit better, but still not great. I'm glad they finally got called out for it.
"I wanted you more than you'll ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
I heard this this am. I realize we cannot put our kids in a bubble, but I think we will finish the bottle we have them move to California baby. I wanted to switch anyway no I am just more motivated.

That's all we've used. Every day for the past 10+ months. Oy.

Its the same stuff we've all been raised on.
And TBLily is right - if its not the shampoo, it'll be the water, or the baby food, or the sun, or the dirt. It sucks, but its true.

Wow, I'm just now hearing about this! DS#1 we also used J&J products ...That seriously pisses me off. As OSC said, we can't keep them in a bubble, but I would think that a "baby" product would be perfectly safe.
I got a bunch of J&J products at the baby shower, and still have plenty. Not sure if I will use it or just throw it out. ..J&J should offer refunds or something.

I agree. And I must be a horrible mom because I use the Kroger equivalent of the night time Johnson's body wash. Who knows what is in that.

I recieved at least a two year's supply of J&J, and I just can't justify throwing it out and buying something more expensive just because someone right now says that it's safer. If you can, more power to you, but I can't. When I finally go to actually buy soap myself for LO I may get something different, we'll see.

I use the Walmart brand of bubble bath sometimes in DS' bath. It was the same price for a big bottle of that as it was for a little bottle of the name brand!
C has eczema, so we can't use J&J on her sensitive skin. We got tons of it at our baby showers, so we have been regifting it to family and friends with babies. I'm not sure what I would do if it was a product I used regularly...

This is us too. The first question our pedi asked when she had her first eczema outbreak was "What soap do you use?" I told her California Baby and she said that was a good brand and advised against J&J products. I got two huge costco things of J&J shampoo for my shower. They have been regifted.
I had heard about it before getting PG. We used Aveeno for like the first 6 months or so, till it ran out. Then I just started using the J+J we already had from the baby shower.
I'm actually quite loving that the article is being passed around. I responded to a post about someone asking about soap advice for their kid with eczema a while back and got attacked for saying J&J had a bunch of crappy chemicals in it and not to use it. This is me getting the last laugh. mwahaha.

dang- i didn't think about trying to return or whatever... i just tossed mine.. 1 full bottle and 2 halves.... i might have a few scented ones too but DS can't use because of eczema... i'll just switch to something safer... sure- there could be something wrong with that one later too but i just dont want to worry about it so i'd rather not use it..
Re: HTTh: J&J shampoo/body wash
uhhh. i hadn't heard this at all. yikes. i use the naturals line and love the smell, but i may need to reconsider!
ETA: nevermind, i just read it and saw it just pertains to the old standard "baby shampoo" and not the naturals. (or so they say....)
I don't think the Naturals line is part of the investigation... I think you'd be considered "safe" with using it.
