Quick! Where can I get pretty bunting locally?

I want to go at lunch today.

  • I don't know of anywhere that sells them locally (at least not pretty). Hobby Lobby has some cheapo options. I have rainbow scalloped bunting that I made and you're welcome to borrow if you like.

I might just make mine.  It can't be hard, right?  (THATSWHATSHESAID!)

Can I see a pic of yours?  How long did it take?  It would be pretty to hang in DD's room after.

  • It's pretty easy, albeit time consuming to cut everything out. I spent so much freakin time on the decorations for D's party and didn't get a single pic of them.

If you do penant (triangle) bunting, it'll probs be way easier than the scallop. I bought handkerchiefs from Hobby Lobby and used a plate to trace cirvcles then just folded them in half and sewed around them for the scallops. I got bias tape and pinned the scallops in and sewed down the length of the bias tape and that's it.

There are tons of tutorials out there if you need something more technical, but it really is super easy...

ETA: It's easy assuming you have a sewing machine. I'm sure you could do a new sew version with iron on tape stuff, but I've always found that a PITA. I *have* made paper bunting before with scrapbook paper which was also super easy - just paper, string and glue dots.
