LO was allergy tested (blood test) and he didn't test postive for anything. Including milk which I find really strange since he broke out into terrible hives when we tried to switch to WCM.
We haven't had a chance to tak to the pedi yet. Everything I've found online indicates the test should be pretty reliable. I don't understand.

Re: Negative allergy testing?
The same happened to my little one. He tested negative for everything through the blood work (but pork), however he demonstrated a reaction to either dairy or soy.
Apparently, about 25% of children will come back negative through blood & skin testing.
I strongly advise consulting with a allergist who specializes in pediatric medicine.
We've have been through the highs and lows of that--it sucks.
He tested at 12 mos for a ton of stuff--very high on the charts. About yr later some went "down"--yeah!!!! Then about a year later tested again and it showed he was negative for some of it, including peanuts! OMG we thought--amazing.
WELL...... he ate peanut and we were seconds away from the epi pen when the benadryl kicked in. It was horrible. Luckily he vomited and that helped. Scariest moment ever. Needless to say--- I consider him still peanut allergic. Same with egg--huge hives even though he tested negative. Milk was barely an allergy according to the test--yet huge hives again.
We haven't gone back to the allergist since our pedi ran these tests this past spring..... but we need to.
