I made my 6 mth old home made food recently. It was very easy to do. However, the taste was VERY bland. What can I use to add a better taste to it? I know he's too young for seasonings... right?? Thanks!
nope, you can totally introduce seasoning. i would try the bland version to make sure there isn't any reaction and then introduce spices. my kiddo liked sweet potatoes with ginger, parsnips with cinnamon, rosemary with white beans, and peas with garlic. i would of course avoid salt, but feel free to experiment! check out wholesomebabyfood.com too - great site for ideas!
I have heard that the more flavors you expose kids to, the less picky they'll be. We weren't too inventive. Mostly just cinnamon and vanilla added to things. Also, don't be afraid to mix veggies/fruits. Maybe look at some jarred babyfood for good ideas. Apple/pears/bananas, etc.

This exactly! I made all our baby foods using that site. I didn't use a ton of spices just because I'm not a great cook and don't know what to use However, I wish now I'd introduced him to more spices sooner to help broaden his palate. He did have a topical reaction to cinnamon (turned bright red anywhere it touched him) but didn't have issues with any other spices.

Your good with spices just no honey. I use apple juice as my liquid in squash and sweet potatos to add some flavor. I also do a lot of mixing once I have tried things separately I like the frozen veggies for soup bag
