Yes, I used regularly and am very grateful for the service. I used it for the first time on maternity leave when my son was about 8 weeks old. I figure the longest my child would ever be in it would be 2 hours. Are these the greatest childcare professionals in the universe? Probably not, but taking care of kids isn't rocket science and I've never had any problems.
We have, until DS' anxiety over it got to be too much. I'd like to try it again now that he's older. The people working there are not the greatest, but it's a short time. My biggest problem now is that I like to swim and I don't know if they'll come get me out of the pool if DS is having a bad day. (I've been called in before if he cries longer than 15 minutes).
I LOVE gym daycare and so does DS....DD is too little to go. We switched gyms because our old gym's daycare was questionable. I can not say enough about going to the gym, it is my sanity as a SAHM.
My only caution with gym daycare is that most are not subject to state daycare standards which can lead to the daycare being understaffed. Ask about what ages they supervise, their policy regarding food and drink, and inspect the toys for choking hazards, etc. I usually go at non-peak times and I have not had any issues.
Thanks for your input. The ratio is the main thing that makes me nervous. There were about 15 kids in there with one lady watching them last night. It was also the busy time of day, so I will probably try to go earlier if possible.

Thats always my issue with using the pool. It's a pain when they come get you when you're in the pool.
15:1 thats NUTS!
I love the gym daycare! It helps me keep my sanity. It took a while( close to 3 months ) for DS1 to adjust to it. He loves going but he's back in a funk where they have to come get me mid work out.
It's also good because it gets them used to other care givers too.

Yep. I work at a gym, so at least one kid is in there almost every day.
We love all the staff and the kids have a great time. In fact, sometimes DD would rather come to the gym with me than stay home with Daddy if he's home.

This is a state-by-state issue. My state still requires the mandated ratio so there's never a ridiculous ratio.
