prenatal massage

Does anyone have any recommendations for a great prenatal massage in Alexandria, Arlington or even DC if it's worth the trek? My back is absolutely killing me.

I swore I'd never choose another spa in this area over the Mandarin Oriental, because it is all kinds of amazing, but I'm not sure if it's worth paying the premium for all of the extra things (huge whirlpool, steam room, sauna etc) if I can't use any of them.

Diagnosed with Stage IV Endo via Lap, 8/10
Started TTC, 11/10
Excision via Lap (60% of ovary removed), 5/11
IVF #1, 8/11 C/P :(
Surprise BFP, 9/6/11!

    I liked Sugar House Day Spa in Old Town Alexandria...nice atmosphere, great massage therapist..the one I had was a recent mom herself, so that was nice to have in common and talk about. (..but she didn't talk throughout my massage either, which was nice.  I wanted quiet...)

    I had tailbone pain with my last pregnancy and my back was really sore.  More so than a massage, I found my hypnotherapy sessions with LindseyJW really helpful in relaxing me.  I would leave there incredibly refreshed and pain free.  I just found the lighter pressure they used during pregnancy massages not nearly as helpful in managing back pain.

    I second the rec for Sugar House in Old Town Alexandria. The massage therapist actually used a good amount of pressure, which I appreciated. They also have a pillow with a hole in it, so you can lay on your stomach.

    Sugar House is very nice.  I had a gift certificate there and the therapist did a great job.

    Alexandria Myotherapy in Old Town has belly cut-out cushions so you can lay face down!! See Sheri Bergen. i adored this in my first pregnancy, but not so much in my second (carried differently).

    in my second pregnancy, i saw Yvette at the Potomac Yards Massage Envy. she is awesome! She only works during the normal workday, and she books up, but she's totally worth taking the time off work. plus, ME is fairly inexpensive (especially if you become a member for $59/mo). if you see her, tell her Lindsey referred you! if you go here, be sure to confirm your appointment in advance. their back office is super disorganized (though i've never had issues when i have appointments with Yvette).

    i recently partnered with a masseuse who provides massages at the Duke Street Center for Therapy in Old Town. Teeka is gentle, but responsive to direction.
