DH has pneumonia, what if i go into labor?!

DH finally went to the doctor today after being sick for a couple weeks and he has pneumonia! He has had a fever off and on for a while, right now it's 102.4. they prescribed some antibiotics and he is supposed to go back in 5 days. meanwhile I lost my mucus plug today, have been having contractions about 20 min apart. This may seem silly, but will they allow him in L&D while he is so sick?

    You may want to ask your OB, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't if he still has fever...? GL I hope he feels better soon and maybe LO will give you another day or two to allow daddy to get more meds in. Your OB or L&D would be the best person to ask.

    He is soooo sick. Its 3am and he has such a bad fever he practically convulsing with chills. He says he is freezing. I am up trying to help him, got him in a shower and back into bed. Just took his temp and its 102.1. I am starting to feel like I need to take him to the ER but he is refusing (silly stubborn men!) This is scary, and the timing! He started a Zpack of antibiotics tonight, I really hope they kick in quick. thanks for the support.

    Oh man.  I am so sorry.  Thinking of you.  Just know that losing the mucus plug does not mean you are going to start labor right away.  Z-packs work pretty quickly, so I would think the fever should break soon.  I would doubt that they will let him in or on L & D if he's that sick...so hopefully LO decides to nestle in a bit longer and you get a day or two where he can get better before you have to go to the hospital.  Take care of yourself through this, too!!!  Hang in there and keep us posted. 

    Do you have another support person just in case?

    Thanks for all your well wishes. I am okay and he is doing a bit better, it seems much worse at night. I have a backup support person just in case. I am supposed to call my OB tomorrow to see if we need to schedule an induction right away or not. I just finished another 24 hr. urine test and my BP is really high and has been since 33 weeks. If I am not induced over the weekend I probably will be next week. My doctor was really hoping I would just go on my own before Tuesdays appointment and said things looked promising. At this point I want dh to make it through his 5 days of antibiotics and second Dr visit first. I didn't think I'd be hoping to keep my little guy in!
