TTC question

As many of  you already know, after my EP in August we decided to start TTC straight away. AF was 5 days late but showed up last weekend. Now I am worried about my cycle being all over the place. It use to be regular - every 28-29 days but with the last cycle being 33 days I am confused when to expect to ovulate. Do you think I should buy some OPK's? Did anyone else's cycles stuff up after an EP? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: TTC question

  • I didn't have an EP (a miscarriage though) and it took my cycle a couple months to regulate back to "normal"  They started out really long and tapered down to about 30 days, which was normal for me.  So maybe it getting back to where you were?  33 days doesn't sound abnormally long though.  OPKs are helpful in taking some of the guess work out of it even if you have a regular cycles.

  • Start charting, N. It has taken all of the guess work and frustration out of TTC for me. You can sign up on fertilityfriend.com and get a free account. (You can also just click on my TTC ticker to get to the site). My cycles were always 28-29 days too. Now, they are anywhere from 25-32 days long. I am using OPKs and charting, so I know exactly when I ovulate and when to expect AF! Charting is the only real way to know what your body is doing. If you need any more info, you can message me on FB! Good luck!

  • I would definitely buy OPKs and/or chart.   Did you knwo for sure when you were ovulating before?  Either that or just have sex every other day all month.  :)

The last 2 times we were TTC I used that firstresponse.com ovulation calculator & it tells you the 5 days you are expected to 'O' and both times we got BFP after the 1st month of trying. I guess we were lucky then so now it's time to chart! Thanks Jill!

  • I have not had an EP, but even if you have a pretty normal cycle you can have random months. I used OPKs and loved them, it gave me peace of mind to know I wasn't missing my window and was easy. I have what I thought was a very regular cycle, but when I started charting closely I realized it varied from 28-35 days, and I would definitely have missed my fertile window without OPKs! Check out Wondfos from Amazon, they're like 10-20 cents a test and so you don't go broke. Good luck!
