2. Your favorite flavor of ice cream
3. The first names of your grandparents, and whether you'd consider using them for a kid name

Re: You there, come in here and fill out this poll
High school - I liked them all....maybe anatomy and physiology. Not sure what to say about college and grad.
Coffee anything
Lyman, Doris, Rudolph, Lavina......might use some as MNs
I don't really have one.....I like Elf, Jim Carrey Grinch, Rudolph and Frosty.
Pecan pie....or stuffing.
Lately we have been talking about moving to England. Not really, but a nice fantasy.
I don't know
1. Your favorite class in high school (and college, if you went, and grad/law/med school, if you went)
High School - Poetry (i was an angsty teen), College - Human Sexuality (its the one class i never feel asleep in), Grad - Behavior Modification (ha! good thing i paid attention in that class...)
2. Your favorite flavor of ice cream
cookies and cream, or cookie dough, or mint chocolate chip, or.... mmm, ice cream
3. The first names of your grandparents, and whether you'd consider using them for a kid name
Hugh, Shirley, Barbara, Alvin and Pauline. I wouldn't consider any for a first name, but I would have loved to use my great grandmother's name (Hazel) for a middle name.
4. Favorite Christmas movie
A Christmas Story - is there any other possible answer to this question??
5. Do your Christmas tree decorations have a theme or color scheme? What's your favorite ornament?
No, no theme. Well, maybe you could consider "travel" or theme since most of our ornaments are ones we've collected in our travels. My favorite ornaments are the personalized ones we get every year. It wasnt easy finding one with 5 name spots this year, i can only imagine the trouble we'll have in the future
6. "If I went to Thanksgiving dinner and they weren't serving _________, I would cry. Or at least pout."
Mashed potatoes!!
7. What country besides the U.S. or Canada do you most strongly identify with? Why?
Australia - because we fell in love w/ the country during our HM
8. Have you ever seen the Northern Lights?
No
Blogs: Our Growing Family - CT Working Moms

1. Your favorite class in high school (and college, if you went, and grad/law/med school, if you went)
High school - either AP English or AP History
College - the one econ class I took - it was hard, but I loved it
Law school - it was called "advanced research" or something like that and it won my favor for feeling like it might actually be useful someday
2. Your favorite flavor of ice cream
I had Earl Gray ice cream once and loved it. Besides that, cookies and cream.
3. The first names of your grandparents, and whether you'd consider using them for a kid name
Carl (yes), Arthur (no), Margaret (a thousand times yes), Bessie (no)
4. Favorite Christmas movie - Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas
5. Do your Christmas tree decorations have a theme or color scheme? What's your favorite ornament?
Red and silver. I think my favorite ornament is a male gymnast on the rings. I love men's gymnastics
6. "If I went to Thanksgiving dinner and they weren't serving _________, I would cry. Or at least pout."
Pumpkin pie. This is sometimes omitted from the menu in Jen's family. Who are these people???
7. What country besides the U.S. or Canada do you most strongly identify with? Why?
Sweden - I've never been there, but we have family on both sides from there.
8. Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? No. Boo.
1. Your favorite class in high school (and college, if you went, and grad/law/med school, if you went) High School - I liked the Robotics class I took. A lot of friends took it and it was very hands on (how I learn best.). In college I liked my English classes because I thought they were easy (my high school had a very rigerous English program so college English was a breeze.) I also liked my Developmental Psych class, which I guess is why I chose it as a major. In grad school, I liked my Social Justice class and my Program Administration class (can't remember the real title.)
2. Your favorite flavor of ice cream - mint chocolate chip
3. The first names of your grandparents, and whether you'd consider using them for a kid name Roland and Marjorie (no and no - though it is my middle name) and Albert and Kathleen (no and while I like the name Kathleen, my cousin is named that and my grandmother wasn't known as the nicest lady, so based on that, no.)
4. Favorite Christmas movie - I think parts of National Lampoons Christmas is hysterical. I also liked The Polar Express.
5. Do your Christmas tree decorations have a theme or color scheme? What's your favorite ornament? No theme. L collected ornaments for years before we were together so most are hers. My favorites are the ones the kids' made.
6. "If I went to Thanksgiving dinner and they weren't serving _________, I would cry. Or at least pout." Nothing. I don't care about Thanksgiving dinner. L makes a very modified one (turkey breast, cranberry chutney, sweet potato fries, and carrot cake cupcakes) since it is just the 4 of us (and sometimes a friend) and we usually go to the museums on Thanksgiving.
7. What country besides the U.S. or Canada do you most strongly identify with? Why? I have no idea. I haven't traveled much. Perhaps England, since I have an English heritage?
8. Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? No!
1. Your favorite class in high school (and college, if you went, and grad/law/med school, if you went)
English was always my favorite class in high school, History was my favorite in college but it's because the professor was cute.
2. Your favorite flavor of ice cream
Vanilla
3. The first names of your grandparents, and whether you'd consider using them for a kid name
Paternal Grandma - Florence Adelaide, would definitely use first and middle
Paternal Grandpa - Donald Spencer, not the first but the middle for sure, it's been passed down for generations
Maternal Grandma - Dixie, wouldn't ever consider it, not my style
Bio Maternal Grandpa - Joseph, would consider it, it's a nod toward my very slight NA heritage
Maternal Grandpa - Marvin, nope
4. Favorite Christmas movie
Charlie Brown
5. Do your Christmas tree decorations have a theme or color scheme? What's your favorite ornament?
They did for a couple of years before the cats broke most of the balls, now it's a mish mash of collected and made ornaments. My favorite ornament is a paper angel that A made for the top of the tree.
6. "If I went to Thanksgiving dinner and they weren't serving _________, I would cry. Or at least pout."
J and I just had this conversation! Turkey. I don't eat it anymore but Thanksgiving just isn't Thanksgiving without turkey. J's mom doesn't like turkey and always makes chickens (?!?!), kills the magic for me. Also, green bean casserole, my favorite dish.
7. What country besides the U.S. or Canada do you most strongly identify with? Why?
Ireland. I'm part Irish, not sure how much but it's in there and for some reason I have always had this really strong connection to Ireland. If I could move anywhere outside the US, that would be the place. I would totally be a sheep and potato farmer.

Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

1. Your favorite class in high school (and college, if you went, and grad/law/med school, if you went) I took an advanced sewing calss in high school and it was so much fun to work on all of the different sewing projects I never had time to complete after school. In college I was in an Honors poetry class and we got to go to a local school and teach poetry to kids as part of a service project. I still ahve a copy of the "book" we published.
2. Your favorite flavor of ice cream I like so many...Ben and Jerrys Cinnamon buns (or whatever name they gave it) was the best for a while. If we go traditional I am partial to mint chocolate chip/grasshopper ice creams.

3. Charles, Rebecca, Anthony, and Barbara. I'm not really in to naming first names after people, and Rebecca is DW and I have a cousin Anthony already. My middle name is shared with my nephew, father, and grandfather, and is a family name way back. I may want to use that for a middle, or we may use DW's side for middle names.
4. Love Actually. DW's favorite is Muppet Christmas Carol, which is growing on me.
5. I guess they are themed by what the cats can't destroy. At my parents I still have the "special ornaments" that my parents gave us yearly and it was a big ritual to get them out every year. We'll get those eventually. You know, when we become grown ups.
6. Rolls. Ha. This is a big joke btwn my BIL and me, but for real it's my favorite.

See, my face was so crazy it didn't even show up. Here it is:
We bought the shiny pickle. The shiny green pickle, right? We bought it right before Christmas in 2009 at Borders. January 1 right after we first hung the pickle in the tree? That's when I got pregnant. It's a friggin' magic pickle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a little freaked out right now.
OMG! I have a shiny green pickle packed away somewhere...I'm gonna find it right now and hang it on a houseplant!

1. Your favorite class in high school (and college, if you went, and grad/law/med school, if you went)
High School- Zoology, College- Just about all of my Psych Classes and my shark biology class
2. Your favorite flavor of ice cream
Used to be cookies and cream but I cant find a low fat reduced sugar version so now I rock the mint chocolate chip
3. The first names of your grandparents, and whether you'd consider using them for a kid name
I am named after my grandmother and my grandfathers both have a junior and a third so I will NOT be using them. However we are using my maiden name as the middle name for our boys and my mothers middle name for our first girl.
4. Favorite Christmas movie
Christmas Story of course
5. Do your Christmas tree decorations have a theme or color scheme? What's your favorite ornament?
Our theme is our lives. When ever we go someplace new we buy an ornament for our tree. My favorite though is the first xmas present my inlaws gave us as a couple which is two penguins hugging.
6. "If I went to Thanksgiving dinner and they weren't serving _________, I would cry. Or at least pout."
My granny's cheesy, corny, lima beany succotash. I am making a low fat version this year because I missed it last year
7. What country besides the U.S. or Canada do you most strongly identify with? Why?
I have never been out of the country but I have this major attraction to South Africa. Two reasons: my favorite author was born there and some of his books are about there and Great White Sharks, kind of obsessed a little.
8. Have you ever seen the Northern Lights?
I wish :-(
