expired car seats

 What do you do with an expired car seat? I don't have a lot of room at my house and i'm not sure what to do with an expired car seat and base I have. Do I just throw it away or can I sell it somewhere that can do something with it? Any suggestions? Thanks.

    BRU has trade in events and if you can save it until they have one again, you get a discount on anything in the store.

    Otherwise, you pretty much throw it away b/c it's not safe for anyone to use.

    If you decide to throw it away, cut the straps/do something to destroy the parts so that someone doesn't decide to trash pick and use it.

    We had an expired seat (hand-me-down from a friend, but it expired before we could use it). We cut the straps and threw the fabric cover in the trash. The plastic shell actually had a number on it so we put it in with the recycling.

    BRU trade in event or take an axe/sledgehammer to it.  I've seen people take carseat shells from the trash and DIY a new cover :/

    We destroy the straps, throw the cover away, and throw the seat in with our recycling.

    We finally have a place that will recycle the shell of the seat. But if you don't I agree with pp's, either save it for the BRU trade and save or trash it and toss it.
