  thanks!  yep, that's the color (eggplant).  

  no idea on the formality.  The ceremony is in a theater (they're actually serving popcorn and have romantic old movie posters for the decor) and then the reception is in a ballroom I think.

  Is it a dark purple color, or black?  I like the shape of it - it looks really pretty.

  If purple, I'd probably go with a pewter or matte silver peep toe or closed toe.  I'd probably avoid strappy sandals (mainly b/c they hurt my feet), but also b/c you'll be colder.

  What's the weather going to be like?  I mean, do you think you'd want/need to wear tights?  I'd wear tights that either match the color of the dress or the color of your shoes.  If you opted for black tights, patterned tights might be fun.  I've got a couple of pairs from target that I love.  Here's an example:

  

  For jewelry, I think a chunky cuff would look nice. I'd go with cuff + dangly earrings.

  I would suggest silver or black pumps.  I wouldn't go peep toe in MN in November but it would be cute if you wouldn't be cold. I'd probably throw some light black tights on to keep warm and take them off before I started dancing.
