I was just thinking that I should swing by the bookstore tonight to pick up something new to read. I have noticed that the wait at my OB/GYN can be fairly long...so I want to go armed with a good book to read to help pass the time. Mind you, I totally don't care that my doctor runs behind, because I want her to spend quality time with her patients and not churn them out like a factory...so this is not a complaint AT ALL...I just know I will likely be spending a good deal of time waiting (whether it's in the waiting room or for the doc herself)...so I thought I'd check in to see what's on your nightstands these days.
(Does not need to be PG related...just a good book I can sink my teeth into...)
Re: Read Anything Good Lately (Not PG Related)?
Depending what type of genre you are into, I have tons of suggestions!
The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris is pretty good - hilarious and verrrry addicting!
If you like historical fiction, pick up *anything* by Phillipa Gregory. She is the author of The Other Boelyn Girl, but she writes so much more and it is all very good.
I am currently reading the Percy Jackson series, by Rick Riordan. It's for kiddos, but the books are quick read and are really super funny!
OH and the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan. It is being made into a movie (FINALLY). It is about a girl who finds out she is from an ancient bloodline of witches. Much better than Twilight, and it came out way before hand.
She also wrote a series called 'Balefire' that was pretty cool!
This rocks my socks!
I love Emily Giffin, perfect for when you just need something light and fun to read.
If you like non-fiction, BossyPants (Tina Fey) was hilarious.
I agree with hunger games - couldn't put them down.
Cooper and Ellie
I am almost done the last book! Cant put them down!!!!

My favorite book that I have read so far this year was Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran. I'm in the middle of The Game of Thrones series right now and I'm really enjoying them. They are really long, so they are a bit of a commitment.
I agree with the Hunger Games -love. Another good YA series that I loved (and that are a little lighter) are The City of Bones books by Cassandra Clare.
Oh, I loved the Hunger Games series too!
Also, loved "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett and "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen.
Did you watch the Pillars of the Earth6 part series? Ken Follett is my husband's favorite author! The first episode was great - we ordered it on Netflix.
Here's another! Christopher Paolini's Eragon series
