No. For my wedding shower, I got each host a tiny bag of Lindt chocolates and they all thought it was weird that I gave them something, so I skipped it for the baby shower.

My sister and my 2 aunts hosted. For my sister I made her a frame that said "I Love my Aunt Liz" and I got cute litttle notepads with pens from Homegoods for my aunts. But I think they appreciated the TY cards I gave them the most the day after.
Yes and no. It was my mom and BFF that hosted the family/friends shower and I wanted to show my appreciation, so I got them each a gift. I also made treats as a thank you for my team at work for the work shower they hosted. I didn't for the shower from DH's church bc it was a surprise, but I made sure to write the church a general thank you (in addition to the individual thank yous I wrote for gifts).
haha..... thanks ladies!! I was going to write a nice thank you and maybe a small gift but when you read on the other boards, you see crazy expensive gifts.
Yes for my baby shower. My older sister put it together all by herself and did a great job for it being her first time throwing one and having only been to a few showers before. She put a lot of work into it and our relationship has been a little rocky over the past few years because of an issue we had 2 years ago so I wanted to show her how much I appreciated her throwing it when she didn't have to. I got her a gift card to REI because she is really into outdoors stuff such as hiking and white water rafting.
For my bridal shower I sent the hostess a bouquet of flowers the next day (it was a surprise shower.) when I hosted my SIL's shower she gave me a very pretty framed picture at the shower (but it wasn't a surprise or anything.)
I haven't had my shower yet but when i hosted my cousin's shower 2 years ago with my mom and aunt (not the grandmother) She gave each of us shower gel and lotion from Crabtree & Evelyn.
Since she is hosting mine I will follow suit plus get her daughter something little since I cant not buy her gifts!

I gave gifts to the hostesses of both my bridal and baby showers. Nothing over-the-top, but a nice thank you note with a small gift (Photo frame, candles, lotions) as just a way of showing my appreciation.
