Our DS was born at the end of Sept. I know he's automatically covered by Prime for 60 days, which would land us near the end of Nov. DH enrolled him in Prime online, but we're concerned that there may be a lapse in coverage between the end of the 60 days and when enrollment starts up.
I guess my question is: When a newborn is enrolled in Tricare, does it take place concurrently with the automatic 60 days (or start from when he hit the enroll button online) or will DS have a lapse in coverage between his 60th day and the first of the next month?

Re: Tricare ? (re: newborn)
As long as he's in DEERS (and I think he would have to be for your H to enroll him online), he'll have health insurance. He might be on Standard for the few days between his automatic prime coverage ending, and the new enrollment beginning, but he'll still be covered should he need to see a doctor in that time.
And since he's technically already on Prime, there might be no lapse at all. I'm not sure how that works. I'd call Tricare or go into an office to find out.
He is in DEERS, we just need to run his SS card by for them to see.
I ask bc its looking like his 2 month appt and associated shots will fall where the possible gap in coverage may be. Wondering if I should reschedule that appt.
