Re: ~*Weekly PG Check-in*~

  • Congrats to all!  Looks like it was a busy week!  :)

QOTW:   I'm not so sure anymore.  I'm hoping that I'll get a chance to at least try for a VBAC.  Hopefully I'll be much more calm and prepared than last time.  In the end, if I have to have a c-section, I also hope that I'm better mentally prepared to handle a surgery.

Update:  Wow, I can't believe I'm at the top of the list.  While I'm super excited to meet my baby, I'm really enjoying being pregnant.  I'd be happy to make it to my due date.  That being said, baby is still measuring small.  We have another u/s scheduled for Friday to check on her growth.  We're hoping to see any amount of growth.  It could be that I just make small babies or it could be that she needs to come on out.  I'm really hoping that I just make small babies, and that this little one is healthy so that I can be left to go into labor on my own. Please pray for her to be healthy and growing!  Thanks.

  • QOTW: I don't know.  I hope to avoid an induction, if possible, but other than that I'm pretty sure I'll probably get the epi again.  Hopefully I won't have to push as long this time.

Updates: My RLP is starting to get pretty bad, but other than that I'm feeling good.  Baby girl is measuring a little over a week ahead.  I have another u/s in a couple of weeks to check on her heart because my OB wasn't satisfied with the images we got at our 20-w u/s.  I don't think it's anything to worry about (at least that's what I'm hoping).

Congrats on all of the new babies this week and all of the new BFPs as well!!

  • Thanks!  My EDD is 7/5/12.  No guesses yet.  ;)

I am hoping that my labor and delivery experience will be mostly the same as last time around.  I'd like to go drug-free again.  And, hey, if Baby #2 decides to come faster than his/her sister, that would be even better (only had about 4 hours of hard labor with V)!

Everything is going alright so far.  I'm waiting for the m/s to kick in at 6 weeks like it did last time, but I'm really hoping it doesn't since I was sick until week 16.  I'm really tired all the time so I've been taking naps every afternoon when V naps.  I'm thankful I get to do that this time around!

    My EDD is 7/5/12.

That's my DH's bday, and DS's due date was 07/06/08 (but he was born on 07/10)!

Congrats to the new mamas, and new BFPs!  So exciting!

QOTW:  Here's how it goes in my head:  somewhere around 38ish weeks (I really think it's going to happen around the full moon (but I'm kinda superstitious like that), which will be at 38w2d), after several days of intense walking, spicy food, pineapple and sex, I go into labor on my own.  My BFF is miraculously not busy and makes it to Gtown from Zilker area in record time to stay with DS, we get to the hospital, I'm already in transition, and 20 minutes later, our son is born.  Oh, and we are instantly in agreement on his name.

What, it could happen, right?  Power of positive thinking, yo!

Not much to update, just plugging along.  Getting more winded more easily, and the BH seem to me like they're out of control!  It seems like my belly is almost constantly contracted!  I never had them (or never noticed them) with DS but it sure is noticable this time!

  • Hi.  I'm posting for the first time.  I've been meaning to post for ages now but am just now getting around to it.Big Smile

    Name:babytime01032010

    EDD: 1/3/12

    Sex:  Girl

QOTW:  This is my first child, so I am coming in with a lot of naivety.   I am considering getting a doula.  Ideally, I'd like to balance the sterile medical setting (Seton Central) with some traditional birth practices like massage and yoga that the doula can help me with.  I don't know if I'll be able to handle the pain without meds or not.  If can't then, then I'm not going to hesitate to ask for them.

  • Congrats on all the new babies and BFPs!

Update: I can't believe I'm now in the third tri!  It's going by so quickly (and I hope it continues to.)  At my last appt, they told me I'm measuring a week ahead and that the heartbeat is good.  She also reacted VERY poorly IMO to my weight gain.  It's really bothered me since she told me before that all my probs were caused by not eating enough and that I need to focus on gaining enough not too much.  It was a very difficult appt for me and I'm still upset about it.  Oh well, the good news is baby is moving like crazy and has a strong hb.

QOTW: I'm going to work as long as I can so I'm really curious if I'll be at work or home.  I have a feeling I'll be at work but who knows.   My goal is to stay calm and positive.  As long as there aren't any emergencies I won't have any medical interventions so I pray that that's the case.  I just want it to be me, DH, my sis and the midwives in a calm setting.  I imagine I'll be at school when I go into early labor, go home to get ready and labor some more, head to the center to labor some more then have her.  I know my family wants to be there but I'm going to have my sis wait to call them until it's time to push so they aren't there stressing me out.  Who knows what it'll really be like but that's how I imagine it.

  • Update: I'm starting to get a little bit of morning sickness, but it's not bad yet. Feeling a little better today actually, I was able to run in Stroller Strides today and that felt great. I need to keep up with my exercise because I cannot stop eating, lol!

QOTW: I'm excited to labor again. Even though it's (very!) painful, I was so happy to just have the opportunity to try last time. We will probably hire a doula, and I'll attempt to go med-free again (I did end up with an epi last time though, and it was fantastic). I'll be using hypnobabies so I envision things to be mostly calm again, at least until transition. I'm hoping that a doula will help me work through any moments of panic I have.

  • QOTW: In my dreams it goes smoothly and without complications, ha. I am trying not to get too attached to any particular birth experience so that I won't be disappointed if it doesn't go that way. I would ideally like to avoid an induction and go med-free.

Update: We are having a baby boy! His name will be Nolen, after DH's grandpa. We had an elective ultrasound at 16 weeks and loved seeing him moving all over the place in there. We were happy to see him moving his arms and legs around and his precious little hands, as our OB warned us that clenched fists and arms/legs held in towards the body are signs of abnormalities. We're still very anxious/nervous about our anatomy scan (on November 18) and just hoping for a healthy report despite our not so stellar NT scan.

  • Thanks for the congrats :) My EDD is 6/14/12, and no guesses yet.

Update: Other than being bloated and tired it hasn't sunk in yet that I'm pregnant and our family of 3 is becoming 4. My OB ran every test in the book on my last week, so now I'm just waiting the results to establish a base line. I'm already considered high risk because of the trouble I had last time, but we're being optimistic and hoping the high risk label is all for naught.

QOTW: I'm thinking we may end up with a repeat CS. I haven't given it a lot of thought, but my OB keeps saying because we had one preemie, we're most likely going to have another.

  • Congrats to all the new mommas and BFPs!  Love to Duckie and *~*~*~*grow baby grow! dust to her LO*~*~*~*

QOTW:  Luke's birth was darn near ideal.  I'd planned to go med-free but ended up with an epi at the very last minute.  I don't regret it at all, so if it goes that way again I'm cool with that.  The only thing I'd change is the 2.5 hrs of pushing.  If we could cut that down, I'd be so, so grateful.

Updates:  Seeing the perinatologist on Monday for a look at Butterbean's heart.  I'm trying to remember what my doctor told me and not worry.  Some hours I can pull it off, others I can't.  No matter what it's always in the back of my mind.  Otherwise I'm doing well.  Sleep is still good (aside from getting up twice a night to pee), I'm still comfortable and still able to workout.  Oh and I think I may have settled on a name (DH's #1 pick).  But I thought that last week about another name, so I'm still not committing.  Smile

  • Thanks ladies!!! Best wishes for all of your pregnancies and deliveries!!

  • May I be added to the list? I'm not able to post until after work so I may be a little late to the party. My EDD is 6-22-11 which is 11 years to the day that my husband and I went on our first date! Right now I'm thinking girl. It took us 13 cycles and a few chemicals along the way so I'm excited to be here! I haven't thought too much about birth plans, but I'm deathly afraid of a needle in my back so for that reason alone I would prefer to go drug free. :-) Sorry for the lack of paragraphs. I'm posting from my iPad.

  • Can you add me to the list?  Due 6/28/12

    Question of the week:

What do you imagine your labor/birth experience will be like? Sadly, haven't thought of it much.  Too focused on the very beginnings of this whole thing.

Updates: How is everything going? Please share any updates you might have, including a recent bump pic! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow.  I have my first U/S on Friday.  Today my lab work was good - my progesterone is back up to a healthy number and my HCG #s are doing exactly what they should.  Can't wait until my 1st U/S.

  • QOTW: I am hoping to go into labor on my own.   I am hoping to labor at home for a while before heading to the center.  If things go well, I should be home on spring break, so I don't have to worry about going into labor at school.  I really hope to have my vbac.  Other than that, I am not really sure what else to expect.  We are hoping to take hypnobirthing classes.  Just waiting on the place to put up the next round of classes dates.

UPDATE:  Everyday a different student asks if I am pregnant.  I am "really" starting to show.  People keep saying I am so small.  Well, for me I am big.  I am 6 feet tall afterall.  And, I am bigger than last time at this point.  Sleeping is weird.  I am really only comfy on my back, which I know I shouldn't.  On my side isn't cutting it anymore.  I guess it's time to pull out the body pillow.
