What crib do you like/have & why? I'm trying to decide what I like for our registry. My aunts are buying us a crib so I don't want to have it be too expensive, but I do want to have a decent one. I'm not concerned about convertible because I'm thinking we'll get a twin size bed once he/she grows out of the toddler bed. But I'm not completely sold on that idea either. Here is are the two I like so far but admittedly, I've only really looked at BRU and BBB.

Could you post a link to the one you like/are getting and why? Thank you!

We went with the Capretti Umbria collection in white. We chose it because the company has never had any recalls, the wood is solid (not cheap particle board), and the dresser has a quiet-close feature (They can't slam). The quality is excellent and will last throughout LO's life. The crib alone weighs about 500 pounds assembled.

El Greco Anderson Crib at Land of Nod.
Rated very well in Baby Bargains and is a good, solid piece.

We got the Munire Essex crib for DS. It was the only one that I found that I liked and there was some drama with it because MIL was buying it for us (I won't get into that). It's great quality and I love that DS will have it until he gets a larger bed, you know when he gets married when he's 40.
For this baby, I don't think anyone is going to buy us a crib and we probably can't afford to get this LO the same crib, though we would love to! I found this one at Target this weekend that I like for a lot less. It's the Just One You by Carter's Heirloom crib.

So far I think we like this one for a boy
and this one for a girl
I love the solid back cribs, especially once they are a full size bed. It looks more like a real headboard and not a converted crib. They are both Baby's Dream.
ETA: they are both solid wood and in the $500 range reg price (If I remember right-I've looked at so many). The place we are getting it frequently does sales.
this is lovely but super pricey! I don't think I can persuade DH to spend that much on a crib! LOL Since our set was discontinued we got all three pieces I mentioned and the conversion kit for under $1000 probably saved at least 50% of the total cost!

We are going with the new crib from Ikea.
This if it's a girl:

And if it's a boy:

It's a great price, you can lower or raise the bed, you can take the one side off as the kid gets older, and there's a matching changing table we plan on getting.
We were able to buy directly from the manufacturer and saved 50%. We had to drive 5 hours to the store and 5 hours back, but it was worth it for the savings. We bought the crib, dresser, nightstand, and secure changing table (bolts right on to the dresser and will NOT move). Because we saved so much on the furniture, I was able to justify getting a fancy shmancy glider from Pottery Barn. I would make a few phone calls and see what magic you can work. I?ve been saving money left and right just by ASKING! We are so lucky to be shopping at this time of the year because it seems like everything is being discounted before January.

We got the Delta Venetian in Natural and the matching low dresser that we use for a changing table. We'll be getting the same crib so that they match. It's also a 4-in-1 so we can get a lot of use out of them. DD will probably be in hers for another year-ish.

Ditto this. We're pretty sure it's a boy so we're going with the Gulliver and matching changing table.
FTM here, but this is the one we are getting: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Graco-Lauren-Convertible-Classic-Crib-White/15052213 ...it was recommended, plus it's a wonderful price and I really wanted a convertible one.
ETA: I'm not getting a changing table either... I just don't see any use for it. I plan to get an antique dresser that I can paint a fun color (thanks Pinterest) and just keep the changing pad on, that way they can use the dresser for years to come.

This is DS's crib. We got it because the Ikea cribs were very highly safety rated, and I was concerned after a walk through at BRU. A lot of the cribs there just didn't feel very solid and I wanted something that would hold up well. DS is now using it as a toddler bed, but the crib itself has lasted very well and we've been happy both with the crib and the mattress (the ikea cribs are a slightly different size, so you do need to buy the mattresses from them)
With this LO we were planning on using a bassinet and then a pack and play, but I think DS will be transitioning to a twin soon, which will give us a little while to have it packed away before LO comes.
I went with Munire - I bought a floor model of a discontinued style which brought Munire into the realm of my budget. I like Munire becuase they use 100% mahogany hardwood for their cribs, dressers and everything else - no veneers / MDF in sight.
My floor model is being delivered today so I'm working from home and sooooooooooo excited for it to show up!
We got this crib in black for DD

I absolutely love it!! It's really great quality and it's a convertible so techincally we won't need to buy her another bed for a long time! We also got her the dresser changing table combo. However, they stopped making it in the antique black we got for dd
Since they're going to be sharing rooms I thought it would be great to get another matching crib, but since they don;t make it in antique black anymore we are going to get the same crib in white and give DD the white and use the black one for our boy. We're also going to get a matching tall white dresser.
I think we will paint the walls grey and have black an white furnituire...
