The day after Thanksgiving! Although if we leave to visit family for Thanksgiving I put them up right before we leave so I don't have to mess with it and unpacking when we get back. I wouldn't turn any lights on before the day after though.
Granted, I'm too lazy to put them out anymore (especially since we got a house that lights up with inset lighting)... When I'd put them out was the week that we had our first real threat of snow for the winter since this area has been known to have snow that sticks anywhere from slightly before Halloween onward... Turning them on when we did put them out though - no way they're going on until Black Friday...
We put the outside lights up any time the weather is decent after November 1. We don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving, though. Everything inside goes up the weekend of Thanksgiving.
i am a crazy... everything will be up and on inside and out within the next couple of weeks.
If you are so am I LOL I have already started slowly putting things out. I want to be up and running around 15 Nov. Yes, we are that family It just makes me feel like it's closer to DH coming home too. He gets home very shortly after Christmas.
I am another crazy one for Christmas. I love it so much and have had Christmas music going in the car for a few days. I have alreardy started with little things around the house (some bells/holly hanging from the center of the ceiling fans, the shower curtain, battery operated lights around the bedroom mirror). These were all things that were easily accessible and not in the attic. I like to the tree the weekend before Thanksgiving. As for the outside, DH and I have a deal that I don't show outsiders my craziness until the day after Thanksgiving. But now that I've read the posts, I'm going to "suggest" that he put the lights up soon and I will promise not to turn them on until then. That way I can be sure they're up and ready.

Re: Christmas Lights
The day after Thanksgiving. And I turn them on then, too. (Just inside, I haven't done outside lights.)
